Well yes, because then it will just break next update. So we have it set for the VB core team.

I'm not buying the excuse they're selling, Sounds like they're blowing you off with the "it will break /crash the whole site" BS answer.

Sorry I did not respond to your PMs. Busy week! All site changes must go through our corporate design and tech teams, although I will pass along to them the information you have provided.

Why not use the dark rendering mode of your browser? Its not a silver bullet as some sites will not render great and some features will end up being hidden but for 95% of sites, dark mode is fine, including flyertalk.

in Chrome put chrome://flags in the location (no http://) and it's not in the usual options menu....Search for dark and you should find Force dark mode for web contentsChoose one of the options - I use Enabled with selective image inversionThe browser will need to restart to apply the change but it will preserve the state of all your pages.
Other browsers will probably have a similar option, google or bing should guide you...

Self quoting and bumping this as my eyeballs are blinded by the infinite white space on this website at 10:30 pm. My neighbors are probably close to complaining about the spot light emitting from *that window*

Just out of interest for those who are asking for this feature, does the option to ask the browser to use dark rendering (see up thread a few posts) not work for you? It will do a reasonable job of making all websites dark.

It's in beta mode and it applies to every site you visit. More than a few sites doesn't show very well. It's not a great experience yet. It definitely helps this site. A proper dark mode is very much appreciated.
