Information desk has been filled with spam by poster godpower0002. I'm assuming other forums have been too just by the fact that the last several hours it's been impossible to use the New Posts link to see anything useful since it's been filled with spam.

I've reported them to the mods, as well as a senior mod. The user is suspended, but the posts are still there.
I guess this person has been here before?

Permit me to inform you of my desire of going into long time relationship and financial transaction for our mutual benefits hence I write with due respect .I am Darine Cisse and I inherited an important sum of money from my late father who died in a recent crisis in Cote d'Ivoire. I wish to request for your assistance in investing this money in a lucrative venture under your directives and guidance in your country.
I want you to assist me in transferring out this money out from a bank here in abidjan Cote D' Ivoire. Which is sum of Two million, five hundred thousand United State Dollars.($2.500,000) I will give you the contact of the bank where the money was deposited so that you can contact them immediately and discuss with them since I do not know much about financial issues. I will give you some reasonable percentage from the total sum for your assistance while I pray that you do not betray me at last. Please it is important you contact me immediately for more clarifications on the next step hence it is my wish to relocate to your country as soon as this transaction is concluded.

The easiest way to report that kind of posted spam is by using the "Report post to moderator" function.
Next to every post is a widget that looks like a triangular road sign, white with red edges, enclosing a black exclamation point -
.Clicking on this pops up a message box; the message goes to all Moderators of a forum, or to the four Senior Moderators if there are no appointed Moderators.

Unfortunately, there's only one moderator here, and Admin and Tech are off weekends, etc. For very dodgy stuff like that, I'd te moment sending a PM to the four Senior Moderators with a brief explanation of why you're contacting them.

Thanks for watching our six.

This morning I had three emails sent to my flyertalk email address. Each of a similar nature and each with a zip file payload attached. The text of the email was:
"Hello my name is Brady .
Attached is my resume! Your early reply will be appreciated
Sincerely Yours
Brady"
with the addressee name changed for each email to reflect that of the name on the email address sent from.
The very specific personalised email I use for FT is unique to this site and so highly unlikely to have been compromised. Only FT has it and only FT has ever sent a message to me using it from 2006. Until today!
Have you had any email address loss or compromise?

Thanks for that link. These three all came in within about an hour.
I use "Spamgourmet" for signing up for sites that I am not sure about, and used one of their disposable address when I joined here in 2006 which is then forwarded to my protected address. It would not be guessable! Absolutely nothing other than proper FT stuff has ever come in since then until today. Each mail that comes into the address is copy numbered and these were sequential. Nothing before and nothing since. Mail only ever arrives from FT as I don't use it for sending anything back - hence why I know it is a one way thing.
The emails are identical in content and with a zip file payload, with the exception of name change within the text to reflect the email address that it appears to be spoofed from, which are each different addresses.
I take no issue with IB taking this sort of thing seriously as mentioned in the other thread, hence my notification as I thought it so unusual and something they would want to examine.
