it was very very fast all week up until now and it's worse than a snail going in reverse. in addition, once you get hung up trying to log in, if you quit and try again or click on the "click here if your browser does not redirect you" link, all the threads come up as read

i'm adding that everyone of my replies hangs so long to post long that if i open the same thread in a new window, my reply has already posted . please get this fixed

I haven't been able to get the tech index to reload for over an hour and now we can add a duplicate post to my previous list.

It's been so excruciatingly slow this evening.

Is the system getting the Valentine bug or the new search being worked on? It took 90 minutes for my 3 posts and 1 PM. That's so unacceptable to us FT junkies!

Edited to add:
2/14/08 8:43 pm Central Time

Things seem to be back to normal speed now. At least FT pages are loading as usual.

If the slowness was part of the scheduled system maintenance things, I think we would appreciate IB team (or whoever is responsible) giving us a headsup announcement, like we used to see at the top of the forum pages, so we can "try our best" to cool off from FT for a short while.

It looks like FTers are not getting any headsup in the last two weeks or so for the system "upgrade" (the new beta search turned on around 2/5/08) or "maintenance" (the one just happened in the last two hours). Can we at least be told in advance so we can be "prepared"? @:-)

back to crawling at below a snail's pace on friday @7am pst. took me 20 minutes to log in and 5 full minutes to get this reply window to open

to add at 8:14am pst as i posted yesterday, all my posts and pm's are again taking so long to post that if i actually open the thread/check my sent pm's, the post/pm is posted and/or sent.

n.b it took 5 full minutes to get this window to open using the "simple edit button"

At 8:00 pst it took a full 2 minutes to get into this thread (only after I gave up on three other threads) and then another minute to get to the reply screen.

I never thought I would think there was a worse web site than united.bomb when it came to fixing problems that were reported repeatedly, but I guess FT now takes that title, I am sorry to say.

Very very slow for me. I guess the search change didn't completely crack this nut?

If FT gets any slower I'll be in a nursing home before this page finishes loading. Yikes!

I'm dying here. Please take the site off the air if it is going to be behaving like this.

This thread and most of FT is very slow, again. The Technical Issues forum just won't reload, it keeps timing after huge time reloading/refreshing.

Also, we keep getting multiple posts (I've seen quadruplicate posts), because it takes forever for that page to go back to the threads. I have better luck reloading/refreshing the thread in another tab, as my post shows up there much more quickly.
