Today's report:
Hmm. Logged on earlier than usual today (9:00 EST), and things have been running much faster, even with the popups and animated banners (yuck, those smilies are back...)
Then for the last 10 minutes, it's slower again, but not as bad as the last few days. The header and banner load quickly, but the actual body content takes longer. I click Refresh, hoping that will speed the rate up -- not sure if it does or not.
My $.02

It is still quite slow to load. I am on high speed internet and using IE. The problem is however sporadic.

I'm not having any speed problems but have noticed the page formating has gone to hell today.
Am using Opera (ver 7.23, identify as MSIE 6.0), everything was fine last night but now every page is stretched out top to bottom a riduculous degree.
Links etc. still working fine just more difficult to see and follow threads.

9:54 CST very slow - Sometimes says that the page is done and it doesn't load beyond the banner headings at the top of the page. Refresh generally (slowly) resolves the problem.
Hi-speed cable connection here using Internet Explorer 6.0

Today I've seen a lot of "Waiting for a.tribalfusion.com" in the bottom left hand corner of FireFox.
Can we try b.tribalfusion.com?

Top, bottom and saide of every page I've opened today. Slowed my FT down for sure.
Hope ad company can be chastised as their "memory" seems very short.

The web paths for these ads are:
Wide Advertisment and Tall Advertisment .
Fire up a few of these in the one browser and see what happens to the speed.
As a matter of interest, these .swf files are over 24kb, this is 2-10 times the size of most advertising files from tribalfusion.

I am only responding to reported posts (As a mod) as I can't spend the time it takes to load FT at least once a day day like I had been...this is really frustrating...

Was fine until about half an hour ago. Then the smiley ads reappeared and it has taken ages to finish the posts I was in the middle of.
Just now as I post here the smiley ads have disappeared again so hopefully will speed up again.

serfty came up with an interesting figure above. If 2 of these files runs to 24 KB, I have no doubt they ARE slowing things down whilst loading. And I do not need a Computer Technology degree to realise that.
I am sure others factors affect others loading speed, depending on their location and settings, but for me these things are synonymous with FT crawling. Smiley's back - FT grinds to a near halt.
In fact I got a FOURTH banner hitting me this afternoon for 5000 miles for Qantas - under the top smileys. FT is getting like ......
Well I'd rather pay a fee than see it get worse and worse. And I'm not alone it seems.

During all of this slowness the most frustrating thing is attempting to make a post. I have been timed out numerous times and have lost everything that I have written. This has happened as recently as this morning.
