Fair is fair
I'd say, almost never faster than now.
My previous posts to this thread have been just the opposite.
WHAT is causing such wild swings in connectivity?

Very same experience yet again this morning.

One click will be fine.
The next one will take 60, or 90 seconds to load the page.
The next one times out entirely.
It would be helpful to hear from Tim et al an update on why this is such a problem and why it is so recalcitrant to fix.

Just typed a long post in NW, pressed submit, page opened up to that thread - no post there.
Seen a few like that last 24 hours.
Frustrating.

Search just timed out completely. But all of a sudden back to normal speed.

John: Any updates on possibilities as to what might be causing the slowness?

Performance continues to be somewhat inconsistent for me as well. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help with the dianosis.

Performance the past week continues to trend, generally, downward.
Does not appear to matter on time of day or load, though some forums seem to consistently load quite quick (Newstand, Trip Reports, TravelBuzz, Alaska Airlines) while others (including Technical Issues and, especially, the hotel threads and United Airlines) can take upwards of 90-120 seconds to load new pages, load the reply page, post the reply page, and such.
However, at times the whole site is "quick", while others the entire site just slogs for 90-120 seconds or more between commands. I rarely Time Out, however.
I also have seen just the header and ads load, then about 90-120 seconds later the central frame content will appear.

I've run into a rare undocumented feature that I can reproduce.
1 - Open a forum
2 - Click on a thread title
3 - Before the thread opens, move your mouse pointer over one of the menu items on the dark blue menu (Home - Forums - Members - Extras - Store - Help)
4 - If the black sub menu list pops up for even a split second, you get the white screen with just the FT logos and the thread does not open.
I know, don't do that!
