No, it is not.

FT management has been informed of the vote; implementation is now up to them.

21 days to create a board? Is this a new record?

Seriously, I wonder what the hold up is.

I bet the new forum will be up on 8.8.8 :D

Hmmm.... maybe that would be the optimal day to introduce a new gaming forum!

You'll have to ask management. We recommend, management creates.

^ good idea.

How long does it normally take for a new forum to be up and running?

Just curious.

It really depends. We've had a couple go up in negative time (created before vote officially closed, likely due to overwhelming passing vote) and others that take longer. Again, it's a question for management.

As Spiff notes, it not something that has a specific timetable. In this case, it rests solely on my desk. While I appreciate the input of the Board and the members it represents, this is one of those fairly rare topics that I'm taking a bit more time to try and get my thoughts about. Combine that with a self-imposed freeze on anything new for FT as we have entered the phase of testing the new version of FT based around the latest version of vBulletin. It has a number of new technology choices we can make and as a result we've put off anything new as we complete the tests which actually feature a new front end design that cleans up some of the aggravated clutter we've accumulated over the years. There's more than just this forum as it includes the photo test forums as well.

Along with this upgrade which also is scheduled to include the long list of plug-ins we've had wanted to add for over a year now.

Anyway, hope you'll continue to enjoy FT just as it is since these topics are not restricted from FT, but when we relaunch we've or at least I'll have made a decision as to the fate and location of this new forum idea.

Thanks for the question, hope it is answered.

Randy
