Lounge is small, but has some decent snacks. It gets very full before the LX flight. When I was last there (May), the newspaper selection was minimal. WLAN throught T-Mobile at a charge.

Would not get there earlier just for the lounge.

I second that, don't go there earlier just for the lounge! My last visit to the ORD lounge was in Mid-August and it was extremly crowded and noisy. The newspaper section was very disappointing but the drink and snack offer had improved since my last visit a few months earlier this year.

I was just there a week ago.
coming very early from a connection, I had to wait until check-in opens at 2.30p only, so beware. also at that time the security lines are massive, much better later before the LX flight, said the lounge warden and i saw myself.

LX lounge small, but ok. nice staff and some good sandwiches. decent drinks.

if you are *G, you may want to try the SK lounge. free wifi, and roomier. plus a smokers room if you care.

The LX/Swissport lounge is dated and nothing to write home about. Skip it and go directly to the SAS lounge near M15. Mucho better.!

Although there shouldn't be a smoking lounge unless SAS wants some serious fines- it is now against Chicago laws to smoke indoors and that is why the smoking room at the RCC closed last year.

Chicago Lounge Options?

Hi All. I will be flying ORD-ZRH in F soon and wondered what the lounge options are? I know there is a SWISS lounge but understand it is not great? Even so, does this have a seperate F section like JFK does? Any advice on alternatives would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes the LX lounge has a separate F section. For lounge details and comparison in T5, do a search in the *A forum and the M&M forum for 'chicago lounge'

Thanks Virtualtroy. I did as directed and found some information. It would never have even dawned on me to check LH M&M forum or *A, but there you go.

Question

I believe you may also utilize the SK Business lounge in the same terminal, but I've never been there and can't say much about it.

Anyone care to compare the small F section of the LX lounge to the SK Business lounge in ORD?

Also, are there really any pronounced differences between the C and F sections of the LX lounge?

The biggest differences I can recall is that the SK lounge is much brighter and has a great view of arriving aircraft on the runway just in front of the Int'l terminal. I don't believe the LX lounge had much of a view. The OP's profile shows *Silver so I don't know if he can access the SK lounge where he would need *G.

A same-day F ticket/boarding pass should get him in to any Star Alliance operated F/J lounge... no Star Gold needed.

There is quite a difference in the JFK F side (good F&B etc) and LX staff escorting pax through security to the gate - so assume ORD may be similar?

You will not find the setup of JFK with buffet warm and cold foods in ORD - and the security is before the lounge - and we were not offered any assistance by LX staff to get through the same.

Cheers

May I ask what the F section of the ORD lounge presents in terms of catering? Any different from the C section?

And all in all, am I sensing a consensus that the SK business lounge in ORD is in general preferable to LX lounge, regardless of F or C?
