Any guesses on how to earn the 100K? An additional 50 nights/25 stays between Sept and Dec?

Didn't Starwood Lurker already post a thread about this?

Lurker posted for the FT promotion. Once you register for the promotion, you get a screen (or a registration screen with) the information Simmo provides up-thread.
So these are two separate topics yet very closely related.

very exciting.
down economy = more promotions.
hopefully:
more promotions won't = point inflation/higher categories for 2009
(it shouldn't because down economy also = more occupancy which should = lower average rates and categories are based on rates)

This year something like a "rescue tool" would be fine for me to hold the platinum level. I have stayed a long time in hospital this year and there is no chance to fulfill 25 / 50 this year...

... for those who are wondering about the upcoming fall promotion, SPG wouldn't give me all the top-secret details, but it's going to be something big and special called SPG You Choose. Expect more options and greater opportunities for earning Starpoints than ever before. So, bookmark spg.com/choose and check back September 16, 2008 for full details.

I was going to say! Its not much of a promo if you'd need to get 100 nights in one quarter...
Although, there are ALMOST that many days in one quarter. Maybe if you actually were planning a 90 day stay somewhere, could you check into a second hotel simultaneously for 10 days?

My math may be fuzzy, but it's a good start...
at a cheap $100 a night for 50 1-night stays = $5,000
(obviously very difficult to do!)
You'd get
100,000 bonus starpoints
25,000 platinum amenity (50*500)
25,000 online booking (50*500)
15,000 Revenue (3*5000)
10,000 Starwood CC (2*5000)
6,500 Flyertalk bonus (~13*500 til 9-30)
8,000 Far Away is closer (~8*1000 til 9-30)
-------------
189,500 for $5,000 = 2.63 cents per point or 37.9 pts per $ spent
+ 13,000 chicago bonus (if applicable)
-------------
192,500
