You could def do worse as a base card for non-category spend.
I think it is the highest yield non-category spend card available for businesses.

I think the SPG Biz is still the highest yielding biz card (with my subjective valuation of SPG points as higher than Chase/Hyatt points) beyond the first 50k of spending.

I see that many folks are getting their bonus points posted within 10 days of statement close, but that's not the case for me. I chatted with Amex through the website on 2 different occasions and they are telling me 10 weeks for them to post?? Now, the points related to the statement spend have posted so the link between Amex and SPG is fine, it's just the bonus points. Any thoughts

I'm having the same issue. I met the minimum spending requirement back in May and have had two statements closed with no sign-up bonus points to show of yet. I also get the same 8-12 weeks generic response from any Amex representative I talk to. First Amex card I've had were the points haven't posted within a week of meeting the minimum spending requirement.

"...We're sorry. This promotion is only open to invited Card Members. If you are a solicited Card Member and are responding to the offer you received by direct mail or e-mail, and are registered to manage your account online, enter your user ID and password."
I have a Biz card and I wonder if they're even eligible.

If you combine accounts at spg.com, you would not have to contact American Express. Any Starpoints they may send your way going forward will fall into the account you are keeping.

However, it may not be the case all the time. I had an SPG account before I got the SPG amex card. Put in the SPG a/c # at time of signing up for the card, still amex gave me a different spg #.
Then I called and spoke with SPG who merged the accounts or so it seemed and the profile indicated "preferred guest plus" but a week later the 'plus' dropped off and called starwood, who directed me to speak with Amex rep. Was on the phone with them for a long time (90% on hold) but a couple days later the account reverted back to SPG PGP and the old SPG account number was now in my amex. FYI

BTW my impression is people are still pursuing SPG amex (like me) although, when I got it I had not factored in what may happen after 2018.

The really annoying thing is that just two weeks ago I made an unusually large purchase - about $5,000 - that would've gotten me halfway there.

is this being sent to people who are not spending enough (incentive?) or who are already spending a lot more (reward?). It would be nice if I received the 15K offer..
