VIP card is super valuable. Saved me a ton of time at late night taxi lines and during hotel check-in.

Do free and comped rooms count towards stays for the year? I have an offer that I'm looking to book that averages $5 per night for the weekend at Bally's...first night is $37, next two nights are free, then 4th and 5th nights are comped nights (middle of week). My idea is to book these extra nights, even though I won't be staying there the whole time, to get night credits. These are all being booked online. Thank you.

Edit: So, I see where comped rooms don't count...but what about free rooms using a code? Wouldn't this be the same as stay 2, get one free with any SPG property?

Hello everyone. I just wanted to confirm, we booked a weekend through the total rewards website and the paid stay will count toward our stay count toward re-qualification of our gold status correct?

Hi portland67,

SPG members will only receive Night credit toward elite status; not Stay credit.

If you are registered for SPG-Total Rewards Member Benefits, each night of a stay at a Caesars Participating Hotel that is eligible to receive Reward Credits or that results from the redemption of Reward Credits or Starpoints in which the SPG Member stays in the room will count as an Eligible Night for the purpose of meeting the Gold Minimum Requirement and the Platinum Minimum Requirement in the SPG Program, up to a maximum of 10 Eligible Nights per Qualifying Period.

Hi howtofreetravel,

No.

For purposes of the SPG-Total Rewards Member Benefits, eligible stays at Caesars Participating Hotels are stays on any Caesars Participating Hotel published room rate other than an Ineligible Rate including, without limitation, Caesars or Caesars Member Brand hotel website rates and best available unrestricted rates.
“Ineligible Rates” include, without limitation: (a) airline employee or crew rates; (b) travel agency employee rates; (c) Caesars/hotel employee or employee family discount rates; (d) any complimentary, free or barter night stays, or any stays in connection with gift certificates or other awards or vouchers; (e) airline interrupted-trip vouchers; (f) Internet wholesale/third party rates (e.g., expedia.com, hotels.com); (g) traditional wholesale rates; (h) tour groups, incentives and conferences; and (i) at the discretion of each Caesars Participating Hotel, some volume contracted room rates.

A little late, but missed this post.

I've recently stayed there, and the resort charges absolutely apply to SPG Plats - which include the gym and wifi access.

When I obtained my VIP card, I was specifically told that I can line up in any diamond line and show the card (taxi's, restaurants, clubs, etc.), however the only Diamond area I can't access is the lounge

Mine came through in about 3 weeks. The T&Cs say they will take between 4-6 weeks. So a bit early for you to call now.

Mine have posted anywhere from two to four weeks after the stay.

Does anyone know who the VIP benefits are extended to? I'm traveling with my wife and friend next weekend, and wondering if the three of us will be able to use it.

SPG Platinum members. You will need to go to the Total Rewards desk and show them your SPG Platinum credentials to receive the VIP card.

When I got mine (shortly after it came out), there were only a couple of casinos in Vegas that gave them out. I got mine in Caesars Palace. I don't know if other properties' (Rio, Paris, Ballys, etc) Total Reward desks can give you a VIP card.

Good point....

From a previous post:

How do I take advantage of VIP Access?
To sign up, members must show their SPG Platinum status credentials (e.g. SPG Platinum member card) at the Total Rewards Center at Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace or The Cromwell in Las Vegas.

Even though the card may only be obtained at only three locations, the card may be used at all Caesars properties in Las Vegas.
