Really lame that all Boston hotels are out. I generally alternate between the SPG hotels and Marriott hotels here... and the SPG hotels are not all sold out every week - Especially in Nov/Dec.

Bummer. Thanks for the info though.

Should have tried the lottery today, I don't see it on the list anymore?

I don't mind that it's just another double points, but as the majority of my stays during that timeframe are... San Francisco and Boston, it's literally worthless for me.

I was sitting on some SFO bookings for Oct/Nov and had been cautiously debating paying the quite high St Regis rates to preserve my point balance. Obviously going to go with points now.

I guess I can see where the SFO downtown hotels are doing so well they don't care about paying out for promos (as evidenced by the two Westins having such sky-high rates on my dates that I was just going to book the St. Regis for barely $120/night more). Still, a promo probably would have swayed me to do paid instead of points.

Alright, since I'm on a roll... do I hear one SF, NYC or Boston property that wants in? Pretty please?

Entire cities like Manhattan proper? All of NYC, out? Sure, maybe you want to whine but let's get the facts straight.

The following Manhattan properties ARE participating:
W New York - Times Square
The Chatwal, NYC
The Westin New York at Times Square
Sheraton New York Times Square
The Westin New York Grand Central

Not only the Boston hotels! Plenty of other hotels! SPG ought to stop allowing hotels to opt-out. They are often the very same hotels not taking part!

I appreciate the advance announcement. ^ I've been waiting to book hotels until I learned about the promo. All-in-all, this is a respectful incentive to stay with participating properties.

Actually, I don't find the list of opt-out properties too bad except of course for San Francisco, NY and Chicago (but maybe I just looked at where I am travelling...)

If booking two rooms at the same property for 5 nights do you get double points on both, and would it count as 5 nights, or 10 nights?

I guess the person in charge of the promo wasn't among the people who worked in the UAE for a month.

Should probably update that so that it doesn't read:
UNITED ARAB EMARITES

The sheraton tribeca appears to be participating as well as I don't see it on the exclusion list.
