Property: Sheraton Maria Isabel Mexico City
Dates: 8/2014
Room Booked: Classic room
Room Received: Deluxe Jr. Suite
Award Stay: No
Brg Stay: Yes
SNA: No
Comments: It's called a jr. deluxe suite but has a separate living room, walk through a hallway pass bathroom, then reach bedroom. So pretty cool for a jr. suite to have 2 separate rooms and not just one big room. 56 sq. mtr/ 603 sq. ft.

Property: Sheraton Parkway Toronto North
Date(s):5 nights July 2014 Wednesday to Monday
Room booked: Traditional King Bed
Room received: Jacuzzi Suite Queen Bed
Award stay: Yes,
type SPG 50 Platinum Qualification/ 35% discount
BRG stay: No
SNAs redeemed : No
Comments: The hotel worked for us. The Lounge was nice and was stocked 24/7 with snacks as well as coffee/ pop etc. The room décor wasperhaps a little dated but all was clean and the extra space was nice. The Jacuzzi suite is a little small overall but more than adequate for our needs.

Room booked: standard room
Room received: one bedroom suite
Award stay: no

Comments: still a nice hotel, but very "cold" staff. The lounge is very varied, at one night full dinner with lamb chops, the next night just toast.

Property: Sheraton Brussels
Date(s): 31.07.14.-03.08.14.
Room booked: standard room
Room received: two-bedroom suite
Award stay: no
BRG stay: no
SNAs redeemed: yes
Comments: used SNA's to confirm a two-bedroom suite, since we had two friends staying over with us for two nights, this was granted by the hotel, at no additional cost, since the suite was already confirmed. NOTE: the club lounge is closed, but plats and club guests can enjoy unlimited HOUSE beer, HOUSE wine, soft drinks and coffee in the lobby bar from 4PM till 11PM, which is a nice change from the damp club lounge actually. No additional snacks are served though - just peanuts and olives (IF you ask). This is effective only in August.

Property: Le Meridien Mexico City
Dates: 7/31/14 ( 6 nights)
Room Booked: Classic suite
Room Received: Corner Suite
Award Stay: No
Brg Stay: No (summer promo for a cool 119$/night, check their website out!)
SNA: No
Comments: Corner Suites seem to be the 3rd largest of an all suite hotel, according to floor map on my floor. Was told that there are only 2 suites larger than corner suites, but couldnt see them on website, so i dont know what their called

Sorry had to repost, i accidently edited my original le meridien post to sheraton maria isabel, instead of doing a quote.

Property: Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica
Date(s): 1 August
Room booked: Classic
Room received: Accessible Ocean View
Award stay: Yes
BRG stay: No

Comments: Would have preferred not to have an accessible room but it had obviously been rejected by someone else before I checked in (SPG App showed a Deluxe City View until about 15 mins before check-in). Given it was only a 1 night stay, it was perfectly acceptable

Quick question: isnt a platinum upgrade success an upgrade to best available room including standard suites and not just any upgrade?

Example: wouldnt a platinum upgrade from classic to deluxe or executive be considered as a platinum fail, unless proven otherwise that a deluxe or executive is considered as the best available room in the upgrade pool?

Correct. Many of the here reported "successes" are likely to be fails.

Just wondering how many of the successes to a suite were "requested" vs. automatically given. Could there possibly be another line at the bottom stating that one had to "request" if a suite was available, vs. automatically given a suite at checkin?

The comment and SNA fields usually cover that.
