Who would advise I stick to LH, the FRA FCT and a 12 hour layover, vs the extra hop to LHR, (4 hours in the VS clubhouse) SQ319 to SIN, and then MAYBE catching the 4pm SIN>DPS flight (if I don't, I wait 5 hours in SIN - in the C lounge).
SQ319 is by far, my preffered and favorite among the 3 LHR flights. I have taken this flight many times in F and the timing for my body clock works best. It is the only ex-Europe flight that gets into SIN during the early afternoon hours. In your case you just have to weigh your options on how important it is for you to experience the VS CH versus the LH experience at FRA.

I agree. From SIN take SQ as LH offers no advantages. From FRA it depends on whether or not you prefer a fantastic lounge experience or a fantastic flight experience.

That's right. First Class is not offered on every LX longhaul destination but still on most of them.

All the A340 are 3 class config while the A330 are either 2 or 3 class config.

First class is offered on:
LAX, ORD, JFK, SIN, BKK, PVG, NRT, HKG, SIN, JNB, TLV, CAI, DXB, MCT, JED, RUH, SCL, GRU

2 class only:
YUL, MIA, BOS, DAR, YAO, DLA, NBO, TLV, BOM

Thanks gleff,

I booked it through my TA to collect miles (and enjoy the ride). Just found out that this route neither offers suites (my bad, its only on the 380 which I should have remembered) nor the new first. I am looking forward to sampling the experience nevertheless.

Finding award F seats on SQ with the new F is close to impossible. It has been done, but not often (other than using SQ miles and paying the premium).

off-shore, I am sure you will enjoy SQ-F. I have tried F in SQ/LH/TG and BA. In terms of in-flight service SQ is better than TG which is better than LH and way better than BA--IMHO ( of course BA was a few years back). TG was in the New F. If you are in SQ F, suggest you Book the Cook from the menu and enjoy the flight.

FCT might be excellent, but I would rather spend 13 hours in the air on SQ enjoying the in-air experience rather than flying on LH and wishing I'd changed the flight to SQ

Besides, if you fly SEA (F) FRA (C) LHR (F) SIN, you get to use the FCL at FRA which I feel is a small enough sacrifice for the much better inflight experience on the long, long flight.

Isn't the LH board divided over whether it's possible to visit the FCT when flying into FRA in F and continuing in C? You could potentially do the LHR transit and achieve everything you wanted, including the FCT access!

The nicest touch in FCT is the smokers lounge (for those of us that havent quit the habit) and the food to order from the menu. You cannot bet on the ride in a Porsche - last time they put me in a Mecedes van, thanks a lot

So, if you are a non-smoker and have your own nice car at home, I assume SQs the way to go, right?

After consideration, I realized that it was most important to arrive at my destination as quickly as possible. I'm able to accomplish this flying SEA>FRA on LH, FRA>ZRH on LX, then ZRH>SIN on SQ which gets me in early morning, allowing the earliest possible connection to Bali.

The East bound journey to Bali is only taking about 4 hours longer than the west bound. If we stuck around FRA, or transited to LHR, this would be more like 8-16 hours later than SEA>SFO>SIN>DPS.

Were you able to redeem ex ZRH? It's on the new 77W and you shouldn't be allowed to. Good if you got your seat!

I don't think this is an award ticket.

Both segments are on LH. Wonder if I should search for available First on SQ. Which is the better First Class ? LH or SQ ?

Thanks for your replies ^
