I've added the booking classes listed in 2008 *A reference guide. Note this lists in order first the common *A booking classes then the uncommon ones, so appears in the wrong order in aggregate. The information is sufficiently different from the previous data in the OP that I've shown both sets of data.

SQ biz fare for *A Circle Pacific

What class does SQ book into for a business *A Circle Pacific fare?

I'm having trouble booking an itinerary on the SQ leg. Seatcounter says Z4D4C4, but they have waitlisted me.

Just because some tool shows availability does not mean there actually is availability for your specific itinerary.

1) The tool you use could be using a GDS that is not native to the airline, and thus not up to date.

2) Some airlines (including SQ) restrict availability based on point of sale (ie they prefer expensively bought Z class over cheaply bought Z class). Some availability tools are based on a certain (normally US) point of sale. Others allow the user to select the point of sale.

3) Some airlines may restrict availability based on fare within a booking class.

4) Married segment logic commonly applies. This is where availability is apportioned between origin and destination pax (O&D) and connecting pax. There are all sorts of reasons for this - eg to make their schedule work more efficiently, to maximise revenue, to reduce risk of delays, etc.

Anyone aware of the booking class on ANA when on a Japan Air Pass? I know it's Eco only and rather cheap but still wonder how many points I could expect on my LH, SK or BD FFP's.

Thanks.

Question for Kiwi Flyer

[b]Kiwi Flyer[/k] in the OP, why are the fare codes I and O underlined in both instances. Under the Rule, this would indicate there is no BC or F award, only an upgrade. Is this a typo? It inconsistent with the other *A charts.

I'm not sure which airline you are referring to. If it is both underlined and italicised (as is the case for many airlines in O & I) the same booking class is used for awards and upgrades.

I notice a couple of airlines have an italicised booking class but not an underlined one in business or first class. I'd assume upgrades (underlined) come from the same booking class as awards.

The reason for the different formats is to highlight airlines where the booking classes for upgrades are different to those used for awards. A red underlined non-italicised code is upgrades only. A red italicised non-underlined code is awards only (except in business and first if there are no upgrade codes listed see assumption above). A red underlined and italicised code is for both upgrades and awards.

I hope this makes sense.

South African O & I are both italicised & underlined thus used for both upgrades & awards.

On Singapore Airlines, what kind of fare class is Z ? When looking for flights I get results like the one below, which seem to indicate that Z is a first class fare? Anyone know?

On a similar note, checking flights on ITA I got SQ business class fares (C) that seemed to book into A - unfortunately a mistake

[KVS Availability Tool 5.0.2/Platinum - Apollo: Availability/ITN/US-MYP]
Code:
FRA Frankfurt Metro / Frankfurt Int'l DE = FRA HHN [EDDF]
SIN Singapore Changi SG [WSSS]

Carrier Flight From Depart To Arrive A/C St Availability
--------- ------ ---- -------- ---- -------- --- -- -----------------------------------------------------------
SQ 325 FRA 22:00 SIN 17:10 +1 77W 0 F4 P4 A4 Z4 C1 J0 D0 S9 Y9 B9 E9 M9 H9 W0 Q0 N0 V0 T0 L0 K0
Thanks
