Anyone know if this happened?

Edit: I answered my own question with this from the *A website: http://www.staralliance.com/en/press/eva-air-prp/

EVA's system now accepts United MileagePlus numbers - miles earned are NOT EQM though.

Chart is here: http://www.united.com/CMS/en-US/mark...aspx?ItemId=71

I wonder when UA members can start redeeming UA miles for EVA flights?

Not necessarily. I think PMCO flyers were able to redeem miles on BR when it was only a CO partner.

Yes, but given BR is joining *A, why would UA bother with all the cost of integrating with BR's reward booking system at this stage outside *A's platform? They will get it through *A anyways.

You can do that now. I tried for an award trip this upcoming December but there was no space.

You have to call MP customer support and they will transfer you to a specialist who handles to non Star partners and they have to do a lot of manually activity.

Not easy and takes a lot of time. But the CS rep I was chatting with indicated that you can book premium cabin awards on BR at this time.

Thank!

I will call UA and report back.

I hope it works out for you. I was really disappointed that there was no space available for the days we could travel.

I've read the reviews and it sounds like the food and berverage service could easily be the equal to NH, OZ, TG.

It is always funny when comments that sound firm and authoratative turn out to be baseless :D

UA now uses CO's system and CO members have been able to redeem miles on BR for years. Even when the mileage deal ended 12/31/2011, the redemption continued.

As others mentioned, there is a Houston-based EVA and Round-the-World booking desk at UA. The redemption rate is different from the rest of UA's chart. The agent told me that it does take some work to find availability and the award chart is not good - it costs more and it cannot be combined with UA flights (e.g. TPE-LAX-DEN will require 1 award on BR and 1 award on UA).

Someone on the "Other Asian Airlines...." board said that the rumor is that UA will soon align the EVA award chart with the rest as UA did with Qatar.

Sorry, did not mean to mislead anyone, and I'm not familiar with UA, nor PMCO's ability to redeem on BR. My comment should be applicable to all other *A airlines where current agreement with BR does not exist.

When I was looking for award space on BR, the booking desk indicated that I could combine BR with *A flights on a single award booking. Since we never found space, I never got to see what the final booking looked like (single vs multiple PNRs, etc).

Hopefully someone who has successfully booked a MP award on BR will jump in.
