How long does it take to receive the Rapid Reward points? I just received my gift cards, the charge appeared on my credit card but no record of the points in my RR account. I'm sure they will appear but I'm wondering if anyone has received them yet - if so how long from the time of purchase did it take? Thanks.

Even for ppl who do not have the Marriott credit card, they can use the chase freedom card during the next 5% quarterly bonus( oct- dec) on the hotels and airlines and get 5000+ UR points( even more with checking account combo) for 1000 gift card and then if you have the chase sapphire preferred card or Ink you can transfer them to southwest for 5000 RR points...so technically you can get 12000 + 5000 = 17,000+ SW RR points for purchasing the 1000 Marriott GC ( Not bad I say)

Does RR visa get 2 miles per dollar on all Marriott purchase?
I loved this promtion last year. $1,000 gift card which we used. 12,000 points for the purchase and then 2,000 by using the RR Visa. 14,000 free points as far as I am concerned (and a reason to vacation with the Marriott Card!).
I can confirm last year they were not CPTQPs.

I have both Marriott CC and Southwest CC. If I use Marriott CC to buy $1000, I get 5000 MR points. If I use Southwest CC, I get 2000 RR points. (Ofcourse both are in addition to 12000 RR points). I will probably go with buying using Southwest CC as I feel it has better value than Marriott points.

Any luck on Pre-paid rates w/Gift Card?
I still haven't used my gift cards from last year. The Marriott website does not let you use these with the lowest room rates (advance pay). Has anyone had better luck?

Yeah you cannot use to reserve or pay deposits, but I emailed Marriott and they said they could just do the same as the poster above said (paid in full, reverse charge and pay with GC upon checkout)
