At least they brought booze back though, unlike WN.

Talk about school yard childish reactions to incidents that are not even alcohol related......how about dropping the mask mandates to match the CDC guidance.......that seems to be the source of much of the confrontations. FAs are being pushed into the school teacher role.....hence the increased altercations. follow the science and drop the masks across the transportation networks too. The reason so many are pushing back is that CDC and science say we dont need to wear masks anymore....but are being forced to anyway......

FAs must be really on edge. One yesterday was in an especially bubbly passive aggressive mood - called loud attention to the idiot in the exit row trying to videochat during her safety demonstration (increasing in volume: 'You're going to hang up. No, you're going to hang up now. No, you're going to hang up now or you'll be escorted off the plane!") and then talked verrrry slowly and 'fake-sweetly' to the folks at the infinite leg room seat who seemed to be deliberately obtuse regarding the jacket and fast food bag left on the floor in the open space by the exit door. Hubs commented (to me) that he'd have been low key furious if she'd used toddler control voice on him, but I was more sympathetic - and reminded him he'd have been in for worse from me if he'd acted like the other individuals. Her response really did feel over the top, but I can't really blame them for being completely out of patience. Can't wait for normal...

Despite all the 'passengers behaving badly' headlines, my actual flight experience this year has been surprisingly mellow- 99%+ of my fellow travelers just want to get to their destination without drama or fuss. It's that last fraction of a percent going all snowflake that's creating an environment where the silent majority doesn't get to have the nice things like the return of alcohol service until fall.

These news reports seem to come in batches, Once one of theses things makes the news it seems all of the TV people jump on every one of them and there is a rash of reports, It eventually calms down until the next time. I'm not sure there are more serioous incidents than they have been in the past, even given the reports to the contrary, many of the recent repeorts seem to be mask incidents, whihc will eventually go away when masks go away.

The thing is that not enough people would want to fly without the mask mandate. Remember the mask policies were put into place at the airline level in 2020 to try to create enough confidence for the American public to get onto a plane in the middle of a pandemic and only went federal in January.

On Monday, someone with their mask around their chin (not sure why the FA didn't stop them) looked like they were about to sit next to me. I would have told them no if they did. Even if they pulled up their mask, I wouldn't risk them pulling it back down a few minutes later.

I recall many people not even wanting me to touch or sit beside them because i was gay and may infect them. 1. I didnt have HIV anyway (but that didnt matter) and 2. you couldnt get HIV by touching despite the "science" at the time linking the potential cuz of the latest rushed "study" (ironically by the same Mr. Fauci). You are repeating the same hysteria and mistakes from that pandemic based on fear. Fear gives us the OK to be prejudice and discriminatory.....this pandemic is repeating the same mistakes.
There is risk in life people.....deal with it. Im more worried about other things in life that will kill me easier and more likely than C19.
