See MEA (Middle East Airlines)+EI DUB-LHR-BEY Lots Pix by FT member DELLAS for an amazing trip report on MEA on the LHR-BEY-LHR route.

This has been about three years in the making. I am excited about this, I would love a NS ATL or JFK to BEY, this would save making the CDG dash.

You called it. When do we see JFK-BEY 4x weekly on a 76T?

I doubt we will any time soon, but more due to government shenanigans than an airline not wanting to fly it.

I think you nailed the perfect capacity - 4x/week JFK-BEY on a 76T - and the yield would be phenomenal. Combined with ATI with AF and the ties between France and BEY, I think Delta on the route would be a no-brainer.

I have flown MEA for years and have always liked them. They have been obviously influenced by the pressures of lebanon, but few have handled such disarray with greater aplomb than they. I am very happy this is finally happening. They are very welcome, IMO.

J appears to have the same seat as LH. Looks comfortable enough. I had a chuckle that they use the same font/BP set up as AF.

I can't see me ever taking their TLV-BEY flight. Beirut is actually closer to my home than Tel Aviv.

It is good to see a middle east carrier coming into ST. Perhaps this will encourage EK to join!

I think its should wait for government approval. DL will planned to starts new nonstop JFK or ATL-BEY. The routes should be done extremely very well. It will bring more Lebanese populations who traveling to Middle Eastern. They will have a great opportunity for ME is joining into SkyTeam in year of 2012.

However, if you like to choosing to take on DL or AF from JFK-CDG-BEY. US givernment will have to decides to whether if they will open-skies Bilateral agreements, if necessary. If they are subjected from US president is approves. It should awaited for DOT to applies for JFK-BEY nonstop on operating A332 aircraft.

Sorry, thats won't be necessary to fly TLV-BEY. Because you are in the middle eastern restrictions. You know better that you can't go there.

You realize that he was joking, right?

On a more serious note, I think that a TLV-DXB-TLV route would be extremely lucarative

No, it's true. As the crow flies, Beirut is actually closer.

Of course that damned crow would have to be out of his mind to try to fly across the border with people on both sides shooting at him!
