Booked: BMW 1, no extras
Received: Ford Kuga with GPS
Status: Platinum
The car drives just nice but without pushing it, it took like 12l/100km of Diesel. Horrible. Would not take that car again, would stay away from most Fords. They are all horrible in gas consumption.
What upsets me most is the constant lie about not having other cars. There was certainly an Audi A3 and BMW1 in the lot that were also there when I dropped of the car after the weekend. Both have been moved, so certainly not "cars for sale"....

As Platinum:
ARN Sat-Sun 2days
Booked CDMR (in Sweden that is Mercedes-Benz A-Class or BMW 116)
Got XXXX MB C220 Manual Disel
Nice. Only thing was that the rubber maths were treated with some chemical and stay "wet" the whole rental period. Quite nasty as it stuck on my shoes as well. I guess this chemical are there to protect against dirt and that the cleaning process gets easy but for me as a customer I do not know.
It was the only wet thing I experienced this weekend ;-)

Booked: VW Golf, no extras
Received: BMW X1 with GPS and automatic

First they offered me a Ford Mondeo wagon which I declined as being too large to park in the city. I knew they had other cars in the lot and second choice was the X1. Certainly not that much smaller but nicer to drive, unfortunately almost as bad as FORD on the gas.
I really dislike the current FORD models for consuming too much gas and therefor try to not accept them.

Booked: FDAR w/ Nav
Received: MB C200 wagon diesel w/ Nav
Status: Gold
I guess you could call this an upgrade since the wagon costs more. I really wanted a sedan but they didn't have any. Saw plenty of BMW 5 series in the garage but I don't think the agent wanted to give me one.

Booked: CLMR, Ford Focus
Received: ILAR, New Passat 1.4 TSI DSG 122

I asked if the Passat was a convertible to go with the 30 degree heat, no such luck though

Booked: CCCC (Glücksauto / Lucky dip)
Given: BMW 120d cabrio auto/nav
Very nice first rental, especially as I was expecting to get a Polo or something equally exciting! They told me an E-Class (E220 CDI saloon I think) had been prepared, but sadly, I wasn't 21. More than happy with the 120d though
Leather, full iDrive with bluetooth, 16,000Km, the works!

Booked: SSMR
Received: PDAR, BMW 520D
Status: Platinum
I ended up receiving a BMW 520D for the SSMR price, which was quite a bit lower than the PDAR price. The car was not what I would have preferred but it was well equipped (Professional Navi, xenon, sunroof, no M package) and comfortable for 1500 KM of driving. It only had 5000KM on it when picked up so very new, although the cigarette smell and ashes in the ashtray were pretty disgusting, especially for two nonsmokers.

Booked: CCCC (Glücksauto / Lucky Pick) [Diesel and auto requested]
Received: Audi A1 [petrol, manual]
Not quite what I was hoping for, but the only diesel with they had was a 1 Series with summer tyres. Didn't want to stay and argue, so accepted. Very nice car with Audi MMI nav and two-tone paint. 23,000km, but felt factory fresh. 1.4 TFSI with 120bhp, so it was no slouch.

These are some awesome upgrades. Does anyone know how Sixt is in Dublin, Ireland? I have a rental coming up where I have reserved an A4 or similar. I have Diamond status, so wondering what sort of upgrade opportunities could exist there (if any)...
Cheers
