Booked: Vauxhall Corsa
Received: Vauxhall Zafira
Odd, I have seen Zafiras on the website and they cost a bucket to rent. Nasty car but hey its an upgrade. I should have got there 10 mins earlier because the previous guy booked a Vauxhall Corsa and got an Audi

Booked: IDMR (1 Series)
Received: SWMR (VW Passat StationWagon)
Again, got the BlueMotion TDI version - no issues, great car (wagon). Economical and can carry loads.
Once more, a good experience with SIXT. :-:

Sixt Platinum (question by rental agent: what's that?)
booked: Opel Astra
received: very old, inside and outside very dirty, extremely scratched Opel Astra with more than 60000 km. I wouldn't dare to drive more than 100 km/h on the freeway, as it sounds and feels like it's going to fall apart!
This is a franchise location. Absolutely not up to Sixt standards. My second Sixt franchise experience. Both times terrible and absolutely no comparison to the usually very good "normal" Sixt product.
Please dear Mr. and Mrs. Sixt, stop franchising or make sure your franchisees more or less keep up to your company's usual standards!

for the higher price they may have to get a car from a different station.
there are a lot of other possible reasons.

Platin
Golf class (CLMR), no extras
Audi A6, 3.0d LIM with everything...
The lady (I assume station manager) asked several times if I would really return the car to the same station tonight which I assured (my hotel is across the street) since she has a reservation for the car tomorrow...
^ I love the car and of course it is even better for the price of a VW Golf.

Booked: FWAR (3 Series SW)
Received: PWAR (E Class SW)
Nice upgrade, even if not as spectacular as some others here: I got an automatic E200 CDI - but at any rate, it was very economical. And comfortable, with plenty of space for skis & board & all gear for two.
Equipment was somewhat odd - the car was set with the low-end GPS unit, but had the full adaptive lights (+auto high/low beams) and interior LED lighting for example.
Parked right next to the Merc, a 5-Series (520d) SW was a surprisingly tempting car, with the large twin glass roof, high-end nav and head-up display as the most noticeable equipments retained. But still, I don't mind having been granted the Mercedes, as I had not taken this new E version for a spin yet.
So, overall, I'm happy and grateful for the upgrade, for the rental, and will rent again with SIXT pretty soon (Madrid again).

Booked: Golf (CDMR) + GPS
Received: Passat Avant inkl. GPS
It surely is an upgrade in size. The car has the same engine though and is heavier
No complaint though, just sayin
