This could be a speed record on the distance. They just crossed Lake Superior into Lake Huron. They have been up in the air 16 hours flying at a steady 41,000 ft. I think Airbus will be happy with the aircraft performance. FR24 says estimated landing in 01:11.

Go 9V-SGB

erm.... I wonder why this?

Where did you get your information from?

This is 9V-SGB doing the flights, brand new, she had just gotten in from Toulouse.
There is still 9V-SGA available, the first aircraft of the lot.

There is no need that they wait for returning SGB back to home base.

It's not a daily flight this week

Flights are to be launched on 11 October 2018, to Newark Liberty International Airport. The route will initially be served three times a week, departing Singapore on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. Daily operations will commence from 18 October after an additional A350-900ULR aircraft enters service.

Can a passenger sit with their feet up (level with their hips) in the A350-900ULR business class seats? I couldn't find any pictures of business passengers with their feet up.

Singapore Airlines To Launch World's Longest Commercial Flights
Good find. Thank you for posting.

One of my contacts will be on board the return flight from Newark to Singapore in Y Premium..

Waiting to hear from the FT'ers who were on board SQ22.with their reports and impressions.

I suppose a number of passengers were guest-ed by Singapore Airlines, from the media, and others.

Was there a party atmosphere on the flights? Could you all swap from Y Premium to Business and back freely and at your own will? Was there Champagne for the whole flight all the way through?

What was it like for Y Premium passengers comparing with Business?

How did you feel about the flight all things considered?

From the Straits times:SIA completes world's longest commercial flight to Newark

NEWARK, NEW JERSEY - It took one sunrise and two nights to get passengers from Singapore to New Jersey on a non-stop flight over the North Pole.Singapore Airlines Flight SQ22 landed at Newark Liberty International Airport at 5.29am (US Eastern time) on Friday (Oct 12), 17 hours and 52 minutes after it took off from Changi Airport on Thursday night.
New technology has made planes more fuel-efficient, prompting airlines like SIA, Qantas and Qatar Airways to launch ultra-long-haul services.
