I agree unless you want lounge access and or/extra baggage

there’s lots of information about recent enhancements/ changes on bands 2-5 on this forum

MAD-LHR def a downgrade. i miss the cheese and starter plus the pasta has definitely gotten smaller in terms of what they are putting in the plate. #skrinkflation

LGW > AGP - BA2642 - Live!

Well my first experience of the cost cutting agenda on band 3 flights. Suffice to say it’s absolute nonsense about saving time! Given the crew have pretty much finished the entire service 50-60 mins into a 2hr 25 min flight time.

No bread offered! The scone was warm! But from the proper hot meal that was offered 2 months ago this is a seriously poor experience. The crew kindly offered some Tyrells crisps! I notice Union coffee is no longer mentioned on the menu, just ‘coffee’

The partnership has ended. I believe it is now "Grind" coffee, which is the same as what they sell in ET.

It's still Union coffee.

Here is the vegetarian ploughman’s (is that even a thing?) on LGW-ALC. My first flight from Gatters since before Covid after a FAO was canx an hour before a couple of years ago. Good crew on an ex-LHR bird.

Butter chicken on ALC-LGW. Very tasty as it’s thigh meat, and lots of it. Obviously the downgrade from having starter and cheese is disappointing but the main was good.

Are people complaining when they get a downgraded meal? Particularly the flights that no longer have hot meals?

Lots of posts about how it’s a “shame” to no longer have x or y on the tray. Difficult to judge if people are content.

I was on the following day’s flight and glad I did not pay the extra Avios to get that meal. I could see through the invisible curtain how the Club service was run by the crew and again, it was done Band 2 style with with no pre meal drinks run. To their credit a proper tea and coffee and drinks run was done after the meal but like your flight the whole service was done within an hour.

I certainly am and anecdotal feedback suggests others are too.

Chicken salad.

Service was ‘on minimums’. Meal and drink given out and collected. No subsequent offers of top-ups or tea/coffee, indeed no other interaction.

Anyone who believes that this is to do with customer contact is living in Cloud Cuckoo land. I am amazed that those who want another drink of anything hot or cold does not ring the call bell if there are all congregated in the galley. It is not there for emergencies only - indeed it is referred to in every safety briefing were people actually listening. That, however, is another story

I fear that what people say they will do, and what they actually do are two different matters. They are happy to complain here but we can do nothing to help except to tell people how they should proceed. I have not experienced this sort of shoddy service. If I do, I will be sure to tell the crew, Customer Service, and you in that order. These meals look worse and worse and less and less. Complain away to the Customer Experience person. Do not mince words (sorry no pun intended).

Well according to BA Customer Services Pucci service was too rushed before so that’s why they’ve introduced these catering cutbacks.

I am returning from Malaga in Club (non Ploughman’s flight) and will as ever be giving my feedback. Though if they refuse to roll these changes back then I will feedback with my wallet instead and fly with someone else.

The charcuterie plate from one of the routes that has avoided Brekxit (LHR-EDI):

I was very impressed as I don’t think I have ever seen a single boiled egg successfully divided into eighths before! Quite amazing- 8 of these breakfasts for the cost of a single egg.

I was told that a warmed pastry would follow, but alas it did not…

Do! I will be interested to see what you are given. (I was going to write "get given" but I think that is a Pleonasm). We are going to Lisbon shortly - non Ploughman's Pickings and I would be interested to see just what delicacies they might slop up.

Actually, one improvement of more recent years is that the food is not tipped from a pot onto freezing cold plates.

Before we stopped flying BA long-haul (2019), I'd say our call bell was ignored 50% of the time.

In contrast, on short-haul I don't remember having an issue.
