Thank you!
2024 CBs are earned for flights/status earned in 2023. Earning in 2024 is for 2025. The 3 CBs you got is all you get.

I am a little confused. I am aware that for program year 2025, I will get my additional 3 CBs.

But what about right now? Since I am officially DM as this week, will I get my additional 3 CBs for program year 2024? Or is that not how it works?
By hitting DM this week you earned CBs from 2/1/25 to 1/31/26. But instead of waiting until 2/1/25 to give them to you you get them today. But you dont get any more than 3 for DM and 1 for PM.

I will stop waiting now

Thank you! I kind of thought since I am technically DM as of now, I would get something, but I guess I'm being greedy.

Hey there, I have one Choice Benefit as a Platinum from this year. I will be dropping to Gold on 2/1/25.
Did a search on delta's upgrades FAQ and wow a blizzard of info so just gave up. Two questions:

If I choose the four RUCs, does my status have to be Platinum at time of travel?
Do the RUCs expire on 2/1/25? Or later? I seem to remember some issues with this but haven't been travelling for a while.

Thanks for any info!

RUC will expire 1/31/25 since you earned PM in 2023 for the 2024 calendar year.

It should say on the benefit selection page when the RUCs would expire, and based on since you are dropping to gold soon, the RUCs would expire 1/31/25 when your platinum downgrades. Unless you have travel planned soon where you can use them something like the miles that dont expire would be a better choice.

Looks like the Fly Delta app will be the only way to select choice benefits after 2/1/2025. Not liking this, I'd much rather do any kind of important selections on a desktop rather than a buggy app.

not really sure how a buggy website is better than a buggy app - almost all apps today are just very stripped-down web browsers that just access a special "app" version of a website
Dawgfan6291 and ExArkie like this.

I really don't understand Delta's play here. I don't see how it benefits them, or their atrocious IT department. I don't see how it benefits members, either.

1. collect and use more of your data. They collect a lot more targeted data that they and their partners can use to optimize products and price points for you.
2. train you to do more in-app instead of chatting or calling them. eg they prefer you book a ticket in their app and use RUC/GUC where possible in-app instead of using chat or GUC to do the same.
3. delta choice benefit web page currently says CBs CAN be selected in app from 2/1/25 but MUST be selected in app from 6/1/25.
4. On a related noted, I noticed another US-based airline has stopped issuing mobile boarding passes unless you use their app. You cannot get a mobile boarding pass from them if you use their website on your mobile device. Seems like a play to get more mobile app usage, again, to collect more user data to target products and prices. Delta hasn’t done this yet, but I could see more airlines doing this.

For 2024, I have earned $28,230 MQD to secure DM for 2025. If I choose the $500 Amex statement credit (Delta Reserve Card) as one of my 2024 Diamond benefits, would that reduce my 2024 MQDs by $50 (due to the 10:1 ratio for the reserve card)?

No, as it is considered a payment. Different than a $500 returned item.

It should be treated just like a payment and not offset your MQD earn from spend. But you have until Jan 31st, 2025 to choose 2024 Choice Benefits. So if you want to be totally safe, just wait until after the 1st to claim it.

Er, posted too late. As noted in previous post, it will be treated like a payment and you shouldn't really worry about when to claim it.

$700. Not $500.
