Can you use airline certificates with AMEX travel?

For example, if I have Delta eCertificates, and I call AMEX travel to book a Delta flight. Can the AMEX agent apply the certificate if I provide the certificate info?

I don't think so. The language of the ToS for your specific eCert would be helpful.

I don't have your exact terms but a quick google trips across these terms which state in the "Restrictions" that

Redemption is available only on delta.com
Certainly couldn't hurt to call Amex if you have time but I would anticipate a "no" from them.

Edit: Derp. Just caught that those terms are for the companion cert, so maybe not what you're after. If you have your ToS available and can link that would be helpful

Emirates No Longer Bookable Amex Travel

I tried to take advantage of the 5x points today on Amex Travel for a flight to Dubai on Emirates. Well, there's a notice that they don't book flights for Emirates any longer. So, I have no idea if I would have saved any $. So, I booked straight with Emirates. I've booked twice before with Amex Travel so I know they used to book flights with Emirates. I got a good price anyway since I have been checking weekly. They have sale going on right now through tomorrow.

Amex Plat Travel 24hr Cancel - Points Not Reinstated?

In taking advantage of the recent 1500 business fare to Europe, I made 3 bookings with Amex travel. Aside from discovering that working with Amex travel was one of the most painful and frustrating experiences I ever had, and would never do again except for being able to use my MR pts, I did the following and still have not received my points back:

1. booked 2 tickets, redeemed MRs for 1 of the tickets - canceled with 24hrs but after the pts were taken out
2. booked 2 new tickets with different dates to replace the above, redeemed MRs for 1 of the tickets - again, canceled within 24hrs but after the pts were taken out
3. finally booked 2 new tickets with our preferred itinerary to replace the above, redeemed MRs for 1 of the tickets

So when I look at my pts balance, I see the pts taken for ticket 1 and ticket 2 and ticket 3, but I don't see the pts reinstated for the first two canceled ticket itineraries. What I should see is the pts balance reflecting only the pts taken for ticket 3.

Is there a time frame for this to happen, or do I need to take my own time to call them and chase this down?

You may have the refund in the form of a credit to your American Express card account, rather than in points. Until all of the pending transactions post or expire you may not be able to know.

AmexTravel Future Travel Credit (FTC)

I have a booking made through Amex Travel that was a book with points on an Amex Biz Plat card. It is for a future British Airways flight that I haven't taken yet. Per the fare rules the ticket wasn't eligible for free cancelations or changes but due to BA's current Book with Confidence policy, I could get a voucher. So I cancelled the ticket and received an Electronic Miscellaneous Document (EMD). Per my understanding of BA's book with confidence policy, if I rebook a ticket that is now cheaper than the EMD's value, I would be issued a ticket with the residual value. However, Amex Travel is telling me there is no such doing with BA vouchers and that any residual value is forfeited. Has anyone had experience with this?

DL flights not posted on amex travel

Was thinking of using 100 off 400 on amex travel on DL targeted offer I got on amex plat. But, as I've never seen before, DL flights I see on both DL website and google are not listing. Has anyone seen this before? Common? Perhaps a glitch? Thanks.

Hello,

I have a similar question regarding using ecredits from cancelled trips booked through Amex Travel. I have a booking through them that I might end up cancelling to get a Delta ecredit (or that what I believe I will be issued). Does anyone know if this credit has to be used through Amex Travel or if I could use it directly on Delta.com?

Thanks

Unfortunately (and it is unfortunate because I am going through this right now, and its quite a bit more hassle having to go through Amex Travel), with AA, the credits have to be booked through Amex Travel. Im not sure about DL but I believe that general rule applies to all airlines- you have to rebook through the channel you made your original reservation through.

Emirates No Longer Bookable Amex Travel

Got this notice checking flights today

Due to Emirates system changes, American Express Travel is no longer able to offer Emirates flights nor access Emirates bookings.

No indication if this is temporary or permanent.

Amex Travel Receipt

Hello,

Does anyone know how to get a well-formatted receipt from an Amex Travel hotel booking?

I just finished a work trip where I booked the hotel on my personal platinum card through Amex Travel for the 5x points. Now I'm working on an expense report and I can't find a reasonable receipt anywhere. Printing the email confirmation is 6-pages long and formatted terribly, with ads for FHR properties and Delta mixed in. Printing from the Manage My Trips page on the Amex site is a similar formatting nightmare, which also inexplicably includes my MR point balance at the top of each page.

All I want is a PDF with the hotel name, dates stayed, and total amount... Seems like it shouldn't be this hard.

Wouldn't it be easier to get the receipt from the hotel itself?

For some reason the hotel receipt was about $25 less than what I paid Amex Travel. Not sure if thats their commission, or tax/fee weirdness or something else. Regardless, the hotel receipt wouldnt work.

Ended up messing around with the email to make it look coherent enough. This is my last time booking work expense travel through Amex.
