Not mine so do n’t flame me for the tip amount. Might need more than $50 for the beer & burger at Newark though!

Is the tip also being taxed?

Wow.

Everything still Behind the counter offerings

Another set of snacks by the coffee stuff

Sandwich of the day

Sandwich of the day

today’s fare at the LAX club. Nothing new really, though I gave the sandwich they had on offer a try. Not the greatest creation ever but it hits the spot, except without the tomatoes.

SFO to follow in a short bit if time allows

So is that the price after scanning the boarding pass? Exhibit A why I avoid airport food options.

But never fear, inflation is only transitory right now or so I'm told.

Exactly my thoughts.

As much as I gripe about food options at the UCs the small about of snacks, coffee and soda we are offered is better than paying those prices IMHO.

As of last weekend, the LGA club wasn't even fully built-out yet - you can easily look into it from the front door. AC's MLL looks ready to go when they decide to open again (but was oddly missing any *G sign at the door).

The GS Desk told me this would be "by the end of June".

"Dear Mr. LIH:

We just received word late yesterday that United is planning on opening an additional 30 United Clubs, 21 which should be opened by the end of June and the others by Labor Day. There are 3 additional in Chicago scheduled, 2 in Houston, one each in San Francisco and Washington Dulles, plus our clubs in Orlando, Fort Lauderdale and Las Vegas; these are scheduled for the end of June. We have not been provided the other line station locations yet. I hope this information helps and that you are able to enjoy the use of the clubs soon.

Thank you for being a member of Global Services."

Meanwhile agent in the B6 club this morning had no idea and was hoping maybe by the end of the year, but lack of security-cleared staff and the Chicago Transit Authority's service are major impediments to extending lounge hours or opening additional ORD lounges.

Built out? It was brand new and finished, opened not long before the Covid shutdown. Best food options in the domestic network, by far.

But that was PC (pre-COVID). Let's see what LGA and other clubs that were finished around the same timeframe will be like AC (after COVID).

I think your Polaris lounge prediction is severely pessimistic. I give 100% likelihood of reopening given how critical those are to the Polaris experience. They actually made the product competitive and allowed them to get by with sub-par onboard food offerings and experience. And we can all joke that the United execs don’t actually get what matters to customers but in this case I think they’re quite aware as they received a ton of feedback on those lounges. WHEN they will open is a better question but not doubt they will reopen.

If you're talking about the post-Covid offerings, I agree, but the poster to whom I was responding seemed to be suggesting the lounge was a new lounge still under construction and unfinished.

Well, I said 80% chance *all* (including IAD) would re-open. I would give close to 100% on SFO/ORD/EWR and probably IAH/IAD. People may disagree but I think LAX is most vulnerable and would probably be last to re-open given the few Polaris routes and heavy TPAC-dependency, which remains virtually non-existent. If they extend Polaris access to JFK, that would probably clinch its re-opening.

Yah, should have trimmed your quote - my comment was specific to the food offerings. With JFK an option again on UA, LGA UC becomes another choice in the round robin for the three NYC airports.

In perpetuity forever? Absolutely disagree.
