Posting a picture / image; how to add or embed an image or video in a post
HOW TO EMBED IMAGES: See tutorial information in posts 1 - 4.

Not every Forum accepts the embedding of images; for those that do, please follow the FlyerTalk Rules. From the FlyerTalk Rules:

8. Posting of Images link to this rule.
You may embed non-animated images in your posts. Your images must conform to all FlyerTalk content rules, must convey relevant, on-topic information and are not allowed in signature lines or user profiles other than in the space designated in your profile for your picture. (See also, Rule 2 User Profiles.) Please size your images large enough to get your point across but not so that they distort FlyerTalk standard column widths.
To attach of a doc, docx, gif, jpe, jpeg, jpg, pdf, png, xls or xlsx file from your device, or to add a thumbnail (or up to six thumbnail photos to your post, see the first and second posts in this thread.

If your image fails to load, the first thing to try is clearing your browsers cache.

NOTE: At this time, embedding animated images is not allowed (see this link to the FlyerTalk rule).

(Posts with embedded or attached videos, files or images made here as tests of how this works will routinely be deleted for systems efficiency.

It shouldn't be an issue. We manually create new hotels frequently that have not been reviewed yet.

I'm Paul O'Brien, FYI! Got your emails, but it's better to resolve it here so anyone else having the issue can see it too.

Could you do me a favor and clear your browser cache and FT cookies, log back in and try again? This is an error I have never seen before and it has me stumped!
I didnt delete cookies but I did clear cache...and that worked! Weird, because Id just cleared less than a week ago. But thanks!

I have been trying to upload a single photo from my desktop Mac without success. I use the little 'scenery' icon, click on From My Device, select the image (which I have on my desktop screen) and it gets to 50 percent then I get a message that it can't be uploaded because I don't have a security token, whatever that is.

Why on Earth can't we just drag an image across into our posts? That's what we can do on Cruise Critic. So simple. On FlyerTalk it's like trying to get into the Pentagon.

Have a look at the last couple of posts of this thread which seems to suggest that error - using the latest uploader - might be due to the size of the image. Ignore the fact that the original posts in that thread are very old, just look at the last couple of posts. Might be worth testing with a smaller image to see if that resolves the problem.

Missing Security Token?

Thanks for the tip, golfmad. As I only take pictures with a full-frame camera in RAW format they are rather heavy files and probably won't upload to FT. Not a problem for Cruise Critic though. FT needs to appreciate that not everyone takes pictures on their i-phones. I don't have a mobile phone anyway.

What is the file size of the photo you're attempting to upload?

I do appreciate your using a proper camera, but unfortunately allowing larger files can drastically draw out page loading, especially on larger threads. If you scale it down, you should have no problem uploading.

IBJoel , is there a way to embed Vimeo videos (other than Leaving an external link that will take someone to the Vimeo site)?

So see the above, but I just copy/pasted the URL on the videos that show. Note that this may not work on mobile.
