I will say that the priority check in that comes with CIBC/TD Visas is golden when you're departing from a sun destination where literally everyone is showing up two hours out from departure. I've avoided some huge lines that way. It's a better benefit than the annual MLL freebie in my view!

That's not my experience.

Each time I've done OLCI, I choose 1 bag and there is no bag fee.
(If I tried choosing 2 bags, it shows a bag fee for 1 bag.)

I haven't needed to present the card.

CIBC Infinite Privilege Parking Benefits

Hi all

Just applied and received my CIBC Infinite Privilege card and one of the benefits is reserved parking at YVR. Has anyone used this? I am wondering how to do it - do I need pass or something? and where are they exactly?

Benefit states that CIBC IP card holders have access to parking close to the domestic terminal in the parkade. I have only seen the reserved spots in the value lot.

language from website quoted here:

"Dedicated parking spots are based on a first-come, first-serve basis. This offer is subject to Vancouver Airport Privacy Policy. The services are provided by Vancouver Airport Authority or its operators and suppliers neither Visa nor the Issuer is responsible for any claims or damages arising from use of the Vancouver Airport Authority services."

any experience that you can share much appreciated! I am looking forward to not having to go hunting and park miles away for those late night returns..

There are a half dozen stalls along the far wall from the entrance (facing the domestic terminal) with VISA IP signage. Honor system, there's nothing stopping anyone from parking there, and regular parkade rates apply.

I do use them when picking someone up from the airport, but when traveling (even on business) I can't justify the added cost over the value lot which I actually find to be pretty convenient.

Not me, I'm lazy. Having said that, I usually park up on the third level since there's less traffic craziness. No Visa stalls there though.

Whilst at my local branch today, the teller solicited me for a CIBC Infinite Aerogold card,FYF 15,000 points. She said it's only available in-branch and had started last month.
Good to know that it's,for now,an "official offer"...........

Thanks. I will pass by my branch later today and see. I missed the time when this card used to give 25k FYF and churning was possible every month or every other month.

Every other month.

I'm still carrying multiple cards in my wallet from that year-long opening spree (FYF, 25K, no minimum spend, Aeroplan Distinction-eligible welcome points).

Caution if you're going to open as a sole proprietorship without a legitimate business registration number. Nowadays it's not as lax as it used to be. Hope you get a good rep.

Someone in this thread opened the Aerogold Business Visa as FYF with a phone rep, just a few months ago. Maybe he can chime in on his experience with this.

A word of caution for those who regularly churn cards. The travel insurance automatically ends when one cancels the card. So any travel bookings made with the cancelled card that have not yet taken will not have travel insurance coverage.

I walked into a CIBC branch this morning to try this out.
The rep insisted the offer they could find was only 20,000... oh, with 10,000 additional upon spending $1000. So thumbs up to that. First year indeed waived.

Thanks!

My rep didn't ask me for a business registration number, or any proof of anything really.
However, my business name was already in their system from my previous Business Aerogold application.

It is worth noting that for sole proprietorships that do less than $30,000 in gross sales, there is no legal requirement to have a business name or have a business number, or a HST number in the case of collecting taxes. It is perfectly legal to have a business name as your first and last name, with no other words added to that. You only have to register a business name in a DBA type of scenario.

Thus if CIBC gives a headache over the business name portion, just point that out and use your first/last name.

Hi Jerry, you walked into your own branch or just any random CIBC branch?
