Exactly. They don't even serve as useful identification of luggage. I always feel a little sorry for people who need to display more of Delta's marketing as some kind of badge of honor.

I was MSP based for most of the last several years and did most connections in ATL (to S. America) and LAX (Australia). I think the risk/reward payoff may not be worth booking tighter connections! ;)
