Amex Plat cardholder and one guest of cardholder get in for free. The food is very good for a lounge type facility and the service very decent. As long as you’re airside as a Plat or Centurion, you can use the facility to get fed well when it’s open. And its hours are great. The quality and quantity of the food is very sufficient to be considered as good as or better than the other airport restaurants’ meals.

Rumor has it that local airport workers went there for free lunches with their Amex cards

Impressive performance in the SAS lounge at ARN T5 today.
- no still water on tap as it was out of order; told to use the jugs next to it - both jugs were empty
- no glasses; told they were all in dishwasher and to wait; used a cup instead
- no cutlery (no knives, no forks, no spoons); all in dishwasher so had to wait
- no soup bowls; same story so used a cup
I guess that's what happens when they let all those Silver types in

If there are enough staff in the lounge and the staffs collect the cups/glasses/dishes/bowls regularly, it wouldn't happen. (besides of the broken still water server)

I've never flown SK, so some newbie questions incoming that I'm guessing have been asked a million times, but just to be safe:
1) How strictly enforced is the 7kg weight restriction on cabin baggage? I normally fly with just a backpack that clocks in around 12kg fully loaded.
2) What's the typical load-factor on mid-week long-haul (SK940 in my case)? Currently seated towards the back, but after checking in and looking at how empty the seat map is, I'm contemplating jumping forward to a middle section for a shot at hobo-first class.

2) It depends on WHEN and in which cabin class. For example, during holiday season the load factor tends to be high in SAS Go.

They've never weighed my carry-on bags at the gate at LHR. I've flown Plus and Go and usually have a roll-on with a large purse or messenger bag. With my luck, they'll do it on my next flight though...

I've seen this at LHR recently as well. The selection is very random though. I had a guy in front of me that got selected because his carry-on looked "large" and I then walked straight passed him with a larger one.

SK flight back from LHR and was told to gate check our hand luggage - they demanded everyone to do that! We tried to smuggle through but was "caught" (did it on BA because they told us to leave the bag aside in an unsupervised corner) - there were 3-4 gate staff making sure that no one can get through without gate checking in their bags.

Expectation of full bins and faster boarding/departure by forcing gate-checking sooner than later; or weight and/or balance restrictions for a plane; or “security”.
