The new SkyTeam rules won't apply until 1 April, so again, whatever policy applies today is not indicative of what will SAS do when the new rules kick in.

VN lounge in HAN departing international on VN - access denied. Lounge dragon was aware that SK is SkyTeam but said "paperwork not finished as of yet". Quite pathetic, it's now almost half year since they've joined the alliance.

What's your experience with SAS status at RO? Does the elite recognition work properly and automatically (e.g. free bag, lounge access)?

I'd say they need to add that about SkyTeam partner lounges, as that is what the alliance now says. But I still don't see that as indicative of SK's policy for SK lounges. But let's see as experiences start ticking in. But then again, 3? hours in the Copenhagen lounge, who volunteers to be the guinea pig?
Just tried to CPH lounge - yeah there was space but then the breakfast offering was worse than Aviator lounge.
I think IKEA sold their good hot dog sausages to SK ARN lounge.

My first flight Vietnam Airlines, from SGN to HAN as SkyTeam Elite +
No preferred or better seat selection in advance or at online check-in. Same as people without status and a ticket that allows seat selection.
Boarding pass does say SkyPriority in red
No fast track security allowed, since I am just from SK, maybe just because I am not from VN, not entirely sure there. End result is the same though.
No lounge (obviously), but even though VN offers business class on most of their domestic flights, they seem to rely on the contract lounges for lounge access. Lounges with nowhere near sufficient capacity. But anyway, I did not see reason to get a business class ticket on this day trip back and forth.
Seat selection, basically same as Star, does not hold up against OW.
Fast track was there, but not applicable to SK generated status (or partner in general) loose loose against *G and OW.
No lounge for domestic flights. Also loose to my JAL status, but now that I switched to UA 1K same as *G (almost, as in SFO, LAX, I can seek out the MLL and in HNL I can use ANA if the timing suits, plus quite a few other options I hear)
I guess boarding group 1 is my only benefit today.

So, almost 6 month in... still a bad experience.
On the other hand, flying almost exclusively LH as SEN has been a blast. A lot of preferential treatment, regular upgrades into J, almost guaranteed free middle seat, getting drink service from J while traveling in Y, always getting the option I want when it comes to irrpos, much nicer hotel if forced to stay the night, very reponsive and knowledagble SEN Team on the German hotline, waitlist upgrades, access to F inventory and so on.
Not looking back. SAS is gone for me. Just need to see how to stay SEN. Quite hard when not flying a lof J. But I think I can make it.... but probably even just FTL is better than SAS crippled Gold-status which a subpar alliance.

Now returning from Hanoi to Saigon. I did not actually see an indication of a fast track. But did not look too hard.
I had paid for an emergency exit row, which they have now decided to kick me out of. For no real reason. But I guess selling it once more is a good enough reason for them. So much for being prioritised as STE+

The limited SkyTeam experience I had, was terrible. It feels like a massive step down from the *A days.

Was in SFO. SFO has four SkyTeam lounges: CI, DL, AF, and VS. While some airports don't accept Elite Plus if the SkyTeam website does not show a specific airline for that lounge, SFO lounges were generous except one.
1) CI: It introduced the three hour rule earlier. They accept SkyTeam elite plus but only three hours before the departure.
2) DL: They are the monsters who introduced this three hour rule but the lady did not care and let me in.
3) AF: This is the official lounge SkyTeam webpage shows for SAS flights.
4) VS: They looked at my boarding pass and told me "Oh if you are with SAS your final destination should be LHR otherwise no." What?

But then under "connecting flights" it does say STE+ have access, but I am not sure why if I flew in on AM (if that's possible) I should have access connecting to an AF flight...
I am curious as we have an AF flight in a couple weeks from there and wouldn't mind at least checking out the VS lounge.

SEN is much more difficult to get than EBG and in many cases even EBD.
