Priority in CPH
I know this has been mentioned and hinted in several posts during the years, but have any effort or communication ever been made to SAS handling in CPH about priority luggage?
Around the world I experience and truly appreciate seeing my priority marked luggage arrive fast and swiftly and leave the airport in a rush. Especially with immigrations, it's a really great part of being af *A Gold.
However, in CPH it literally never works. I kid you not, 2 times in the last month I've experienced my 1 and 3 bags being the absolute last ones to come out on the belt.
I know there can be a glitch sometimes and even though some airports make it work everytime, I don't expect my fellow Danes to be able to handle my oversize luggage, strollers as priority - but simple, normal weight suit cases should simply not be an issue.
Am I being paranoid, if I consider it the semi-marxistic luggage handlers unions finger to face every time? How hard can it be? Has anyone ever heard CPH communicate about it?

Having CPH as home airport for 5 years was a quite useful lesson for me. After a few months of being angry about the crappy baggage handling (yeah.., unload CRJ-200 bags on the same belt at the same time as the Thai 777, SK340 and a couple of smaller planes) and therefore a lot of missed trains home I learned how to pack super efficient and travel light with carry-on only.
Anyway, last two or three trips were quite long and finally I had to check bags again and to my surprise:
- They came out first
- on a dedicated belt just for this flight
- baggage delivery started right before I managed to get down to the baggage claim hall. Arrived at the belt and could pick my bags
Not sure if they in general improved the baggage handling or if I have just been lucky 2 or 3 times.

I think you are lucky. We travelled twice within 2 months and using the same flights back to CPH. Once with priority tag and once without. Our bag with the priority tags came in the last batch. It was faster not to have the priority tag on. Also it took us 15 minutes to get our bags after we arrived at the carousel.

This is with regard to flights handled by SAS CPH ground handlers and flights handled by non-SAS CPH ground handlers.

But at ARN, AY and BA had often been somewhat quicker at getting me my bags than CPH.

I just know that in T5 it really does not work. Occasionally the the point where it looks like sabotage when all priority tagged bags come out adjacent when all other luggages is already on the belt.

This is reoccurring theme. Years back it was pretty bad - and even had a senior manager at SAS call me back on a few occasions. She at the time claimed that they could not sort baggage when delivering to the belt as this would require too many resources (:rolleyes). This 5+ years ago.
Quite honestly I almost every single time have my bags of in the initial batches. So quite an improvement there. Also an improvement in the time it takes. In general I am a happy chap on this.
I still takes too long - but previously I was a disaster. My main complaint now (apart from the time it takes) is the point mentioned above. I have fond my self at a belt with 3 wideboddies worth of baggage. Come on.

Dosnt work.
Last time at CPH, the luggage was delivered to my home, as SAS lost it in transit at ARN.
The time before, my luggage came within the first five or so.
But that could be random. My experience at CPH is certainly not good in this orange respect.
In general the delivery time at CPH has improved a lot and surpasses the indicated time (to the positive side). The time before before I had a brief pitstop at the restroom, and when I arrived at the luggage belt, my luggage was there. That was late evening though, and the luggage handlers obviously wanted to go home....

I'd also say any show of improvement is random until proven otherwise. I've had so many priority bags delivered last that I sometimes ask no to be tagged.
My last two experiences are identical to yours. One trip where bag didn't make it in ARN transfer, one trip where bag arrived "early" after approx. 10 non-priority bags.
On that last trip, I've also noticed the new-born interest in getting bags on belt quickly. Arrived into luggage hall with screens saying the normal "25 minutes" delivery time, but bags start to appear in 10.

.. It really comes down to the Ground handlers, SAS handlers that is in particular.. They are improving, but they seem to fall behind in terms of speediness and quality compared to OSL n ARN.. I know a fellow who work as a handler.. They once had to time Priority bags that come out of the plane to the arrival bag conveyor in a certain amount of minutes.. they are aware of what they are doing in order to provide the customers needs. However sometimes the system either breaks down or are congested by the heavy amount of arrival bags that appear during traffic, which sadly gets mixed up by BY.
If you ask me Standby Tags are one of the bags that comes out first among Priorities..

I stand by me earlier post. 9 out of ten times I get my baggage of between the first bags of the belt.^ I am a happy chap on this. I only have bags on longhaul though - it may impact this.

Of course this ARN screwup has nothing to do with CPH - I just thought it was funny my last two flights was a replica of Tango Alphas!
And if things are improving, I'm happy.
I only fly shorthaul to/from CPH, so perhaps you are on to something with that observation.
