I haven't noticed a change - except, I might actually be getting more - in the amount of recent surveys. I redeemed another $25 worth for 500 AS miles in November (to date, I've been awarded about 3000 miles). I thought maybe they'd slow down, but I'm almost at $5.00 worth since early December and these are only for surveys that I haven't qualified entirely for.

Do e-rewards Still Expire?

E-rewards used to expire after a year, but in checking my account statement when planning to make a redemption before expiration, I did not find an expiration date. Do these no longer have an expiration date?

Last year I emailed E-rewards about my missing expiration date and was told I would no longer have one since I'm a long-time member. Apparently, they sent a notice I didn't receive. I don't know if they've dropped the expiration for everyone now or not.

Seems like something e-rewards might want to post in their FAQ section
(unless of course they decide to change program terms on the fly..)

My account lists expiration dates for some of my points. I don't know if it's enforced or not.

I got an email from them a couple weeks ago saying since I was a long time member my points would no longer expire....it was in my pam folder...

for the UK scheme, does anyone know how make sure I get better redemption options than I currently have.

I have an account that only will let me redeem with Hilton, Priority Club or Delta (who I would't really use) & I have new links to join from British Airways & Hilton (again for some reason) - I e-mailed and asked e-rewards if they could add in the British Airways into my current optoins, but was told no and the only way to get BA rewards would be to cancel and re-join using their link. I'd really like a few more airline choices too, is there some logic about who's link you join with and what other options yet get ?

If you sign up through a link from an airline, you will only get that airline (but usually several hotels) as an option. Similarly, if you sign up through a hotel chain link, you will usually get several airlines, but only that hotel chain as an option. They are promoting loyalty so wouldn't want your points to go to a competitor after all.

So if you want airline choices and don't have many miles in your existing account, close the current one and take up the Hilton offer. Or if you have more than one email address, you could always keep what you have and see what the new one offers.....

thats useful - thankyou, I was considering opening a second account with another e-mail but wasn't sure how tight they were on that sort of thing. I think I might give it a go.

On receiving more surveys...

One thing I've noticed: if I go back to an old e-mail invitation for a survey and attempt to take it again, after it rejects me, the link it offers to look for more surveys quite often offers me something that was never offered by e-mail or on the website.

And once I get one of those "surprise" surveys, I usually find that my e-mail offer rate goes up for a while.

YMMV

If you join via British Airways, you'll get ONLY BA as a redemption option. If you join via Hilton, you'll get Hilton and all the airlines, EXCEPT BA.

they don't like to make this easy for us...

Whilst you might not get BA, you might get Iberia (I have but can't remember who I signed up through), in which case, you can set up an Iberia Avios account and transfer from there to BA (although I think you have to wait 3 months after setting up the Iberia account before you can transfer out). Can anyone check if they got Iberia as an option from a HHonors invitation?

neuromancer Jan 9, 2012 8:16 am

oops, forgot about Iberia. I have Iberia as an option with an account that allows all airlines. Actually, via Iberia you get slightly more Avios
