I think what he is saying is that you can cut off the top flap without opening the entire corner. As long as the carton is kept in the proper orientation the cans cannot fall out even on the ride home.

People, people,people..Has anyone seen any double point offers lately? I don't check this post every day. I wish there was some kind of way we could strictly have a separate sticky for those announcements.

Has anyone ever had a problem with the "Too Many Invalid Redemption Attempts" not clearing the next day? My account has been "stuck" 3 times in the last 2 weeks, with the last time 8/18 flagging this after I entered two invalid codes and has not been unstuck since. I have made 4 calls to MCR's hotline and gotten the response "Well, I can offer you research". The time for response, even after 4 calls, has been "7-10 days".

What would you suggest? I can't get them to "unlock" (they don't know how, even on technical support), or reset the field value to 0 for invalid attempts. I'll admit to trying to guess the last 2 crushed characters on a cap, but not to lock myself out for 5 days straight without being able to enter anything! This is not going to resolve itself I fear, as I can't enter anything at all. I have always "behaved" myself (but will admit to picking off discarded Coke caps) on entering codes, so I'm mystified.

What is MCR's problem with this ineffective ability to troubleshoot an account or get it fixed??? Do I have to blow this account registration away with them and start another? They don't seem to think so, but still can't seem to get this fixed nor give me an explanation.

Anyone else had this problem? Have they recently revised their website code in the last two weeks?
-----------------------------------
After 3 weeks and no results, the 8th agent finally opened a new account, transferred my points, and blew away the old account. It had never been locked or disabled. I also found out it took 10008- codes for Coke and a rock download, just not cap/box codes for points. It remains a mystery, but at least I'm back and plugging in points.

:) My husband is on his third set of grabbers from using them in the big recycle container at the convenience center. He repairs them until they can't be fixed anymore. (He also uses them to pick up trash that people throw out along our road.)

I need to find a source of more sturdy ones. I've been getting the ones from Walgreens for $10, but they don't hold up too long. Any suggestions?

Do people really let you do this????

When I do this at home with my own drinks, my husband duct tapes the end to keep the cans in place. I've wondered a couple of times if we're spending more on duct tape than the points are worth, but I usually only do this if I'm close to an award and really need the points right away.

I hadn't considered the bugs, but it hasn't been an issue so far. We keep ours in the house, though.

Ok...this is something I thought I would only bring up to my therapist...Anyway...we have a big neighborhood recycling station and I get 20-30 caps a day from it. Here is what I use. I take a swiffer and I have affixed double sided tape to the rectagular face. It'll pick up most anythign I want and reach where my arms can't. Durable as heck. You just have add more tape every couple of days.

Now I hang my head in shame.

Here are the places I've picked up caps!

#1 Two ballparks near my house where I can get anywhere from 400-500 caps in a weekend.

#2 At a major sports venue (Ice Hockey) after the games by walking by the concession stands. They take the caps off and sell the drinks without the tops so fans can't throw them onto the ice (or players)

#3 My stepdad is retired and does basic carpentry at an apartment complex. He has become friends with most of the residents and they save the box tops/bottle caps for me.

#4 I actually purchase 12-packs and 24-packs once in a while. Specially marked 24 packs now have codes worth 50 points.

#5 McDonalds now has 3 point codes on large drink cups.

#6 As mentioned earlier I've actually asked people for the codes off the boxes in stores. Even offered them a quarter for the code but everyone just gave them to me saying "I'm just going to throw the box away anyway."

I had a dream last night that I was at a remote site working with my company and there were thousands of caps lying everywhere and I was torn from being a professional or starting to pick up the caps. My first mycokerewards dream. :p

Do I mind what people think about me collecting the points/caps? NO. I've gotten somewhere between 30,000 - 40,000 skymiles to date. The most accounts I've had open at once was 3 but I was close to opening a few more.

I'm not sure where you are located. But Harbor Freight Tools offers a nice set for about $15(IIRC). I've had my set for almost two years, and I use them to pick up tools and parts I drop off when I am working. They are in both the Harbor Freight catalog, and in the stores.

the Safeway Battle: Coke vs Pepsi?

Safeway - until Tuesday - has 12 pack Pepsi products on sale for $1.99

as well as the 24 pack Coke Football with the 50 point codes for $6.99 with an additional $1.00 off with the coupon in the weekly circular

so for those like me who are indifferent between Coke and Pepsi
its a choice between $3.98 or $5.99 and 50 coke points
or the real choice is, is 50 coke points worth $2.01

I actually value mine at $0.04 each, so its worth it at least to get my balance up to 125 points

Thanks for the tip. I ordered their catalog. I wanted to search for one online, but couldn't decide what to call them. I tried a few things and didn't hit the right name.

Has anyone seen the 50 point promotional 24 packs in the Chicago area? They are not yet at our local Dominicks or Jewel.

Any good news for Western New York

Any 24 packs with 50 point promo codes in the Buffalo area?

lexie Aug 28, 2007 6:43 am

Does anyone know when this promo will officially end? I've sort of quit collecting the caps since Hilton HHonors points went by the wayside in this promotion. Has anyone heard if Hilton will be joining the mix again anytime soon?

Faye Aug 28, 2007 4:14 pm

Are there any special words on those 50pt 24 pks?

I found one with a big football on it. But only got 20points.

The Dansani water 24pk is 25pts.
