E-Reward $$$ Extension Granted

Title said it all ..

I had almost $50 of rewards expire on July 31 and sent an email Monday requesting they be reinstated. Reason I cited were consistant quarterly redemptions of at least 1 reward and sometimes 2 and a long time member who is active in the program. I also said I would be able to redeem again on Aug 12.

I received an email today reinstating the $$$$. It's not in the account yet, but they said it might take a few days.

So, if you lost a bunch of $$$ write to them - mostly likely they will reinstate. This is the second time they did it for me since instituting the ridiculous policy.

This is very nice to hear. Luckily I received notice that my $ would not expire at the last expiration date. But this is nice to know for the future.

Thanks for the info!

I wrote a complaint e-mail to them stating basically the same thing and they said they would reinstate my expired currency too! ^

Good Afternoon

We received your recent message regarding the expiration of your
e-Rewards currency. Please note that there was an email reminder sent
out on June 28 to all members.

First please allow me to clarify how currency expiration works. Our
program rules stipulate that 75% of the e-Rewards currency earned in a
membership year is subject to expiration. You and other members who
enrolled between April 1 and June 30 were assigned a Membership Year
ending June 30, 2005. The e-Rewards currency you earned through
September 30, 2005 that remained in your account as of June 30, 2005 was
eligible for expiration.

All e-Rewards Currency earned during any Membership Year must be
redeemed within 30 days following the end of the Membership Year.

You may at any time click the "Account Statement" tab on the e-Rewards
member home page to view your account status. I hope this description
helps clarifies the currency expiration rules for the e-Rewards program.

We have reviewed your request and your account history. In
consideration of the circumstances of your account, we have, as a
courtesy, decided to reinstate your expired currency. Please remember
that this reinstated currency, along with all other e-Rewards currency
you earn between now and June 30, 2006 must be redeemed before July 31,
2006. We encourage you to enjoy the benefits you earn as a member of
e-Rewards by regularly redeeming your e-Rewards currency for rewards.

Please allow seven business days for your points to be reinstated to
your account.

Thank you for your continued participation in e-Rewards.

Sincerely,
E-Rewards Customer Service Representative

Me, too.

Same happened to me. I begged mercy because I was only a day or two from being able to convert to Hilton HHonors points, the only award for which I have any use.

Didn't the rule used to be you lost 75% of your rewards? I'm reading this as saying they will now totally empty your account.

We are on the same boat, pgary. I was only 4 days short and wrote a "nice" email. Now I only have to wait for my reinstated currency to redeem HHonors again.

At the E-Rewards site, log in and go to Member Services. Then go to the Program-Related Information box, click on the link, go to near the bottom of the page that comes up (a list of Q & A) and click on the Contact Member Services link.

I lobbied eRewards to grant me a year extension for $$ before the Aug 1 expiration. Told them that I had friends (FT'ers and others) that were given an extension for some reason. I asked what the criteria was and why I didn't get one. Several emails later, they said my account was reviewed. Since I was an 'active' member, I could get my $$ reinstated after Aug 1. I had to forward the email they sent me back by Aug 8 requesting reinstatement. I, like others here, was able to do a Hilton transfer Aug 2. $$'s were reinstated today, received email from eRewards stating they were reinstated (nice touch!). Got 3k more Hilton today with the $$ that were reinstated. Woo hoo!

Never was told how you get the auto extension, was told that they could not override the auto expiration.

Got them back, got them spent, had over $60 that expired and all were given back.

Despite all the issues I've had with them (no credits, no response to emails, snotty email responses when I do get one), at least they came thru on this one.

I got all my $ back, or so they promised.

My balance was only $10.xx when I e-mailed them back in June. (What can you redeem $10 for?) They said to write for reinstatement after August 1.

The reply promised that my $7.36 would be reinststed. So far I haven't seen it.
