Does anyone knows if they give miles or points?
Thank you.

They accept AMEX for payment. This opens the door for the current double points promo. They also have a nice rebate program. If you take your rebates in the form of a Walgreen's Gift Card [rather than a check] you get an additional 10%. Let's say you buy a $20 item that is up for a full rebate. You would earn 40 Delta miles for the purchase and you would receive a $22 gift card. I then only use the gift card to purchase those "weekly ad" or "loss leader" items. I really like this process and visit Walgreens once a week...every week.

I started doing this in January and have managed to get a lot of free things that I probably might not have bought otherwise. Unfortunately it becomes addictive. Some items are ones I regularly use. I'm planning on donating some of the other items to a women's shelter or homeless shelter. I always get the items in teh rebate book that are marked "free". If you want to see the rebate catalog online each month bookmark this link:

Just want to add that if you get too much in Walgreen's gift card value, you can use it to buy gift cards for other stores at Walgreen's. I think they had Walmart gift cards last time I checked, plus many others.

Edited to add that you can use manufacturer's coupons with Walgreen coupons even on the free rebate items. If Walgreen's has buy l get l free cpn, use 2 manuf. coupons. However, you will spend less and get fewer FF miles with this strategy.

Rite-aid has a similar program except the entire process is highly automated and can be done on-line. See:

http://riteaid.rebateplus.com/

Rebates are paid by check within about one month. No gift card option, but the ease of use is incredible. Plus, you can use coupons if you have them, driving cost below zero in many cases.

Major catch: One can only request a rebate once a month, so you have to accumulate receipts over the course of a month. Then, you have about one week to request the check. If no check is requested, no rebate and you hold a bunch of stuff you may not have really needed.

I have gotten about 5 timers and maybe 10 extension cords of various sizes out of this program. I am addicted and will probably end up addicted to Walgreen's, too.

Addictive, indeed! I try to score all of the 100% rebate items whether I use them or not. Such items can often make good gifts or they can be resold at our annual garage sale.
