So, what's the verdict? Anyone buy a tupperware GC again using the recent e-mail link, and have everything go fine? (No cancelled account)

Looks like it works like a lottery:
They rewarded some people who bought $1 GS's: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/002241.html They panished other people for doing exactly the same (attempted to, anyway): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum...ML/002235.html Yes, the latest email offer worked for me. However, when I tried some banners from the website - I've got the infinite "login" loop. |
Has anyone tried to buy a $5 GC using 4 - $1 GC and $1 on the credit card? I understand you can't use more than 4 GC's on a purchase.

I thought I read about a 4 GC restriction for Tupperware purchases. I have not tried so I have no direct knowledge. Hope no one was lead astray by my post.

I have a Q RE: using the e-gift certs towards a real order. I had seven $1 certs and the $5 "loyal customer" cert, and with the MyPoints 15% off, (that covered the shipping), and the item was 1/2 half due to their spring sale, so anyway- I got a good deal. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
When I got the e-mail confirming the order, it showed the amount being charged not subtracting the $12 in certs. I pretended to buy another item and typed in one of the same cert's # and it said there wasn't any balance left on it, so I assume the e-mail just doesn't detail the certs that were used? It just would of been a little more reassuring to see "Total: $17.98" instead of "Total: $29.98" in the confirmation e-mail. |
Look at the top of the confirmation email. The certs and credits post in inverse order here. Tupperware allowed me to use 15GC's to buy two items(there are two of us), and we ended up with a small charge at the end(they didn't send us the $5.00 bonus), but Mypoints sent us to the ID loop and wouldn't credit, telling us that we didn't exist. Go figure.

When I get to the final page of my order (but before checking out) if the final total with tax and shipping is, lets say $14.50, I open up another window, go to Citibank's credit card website, and create a virtual account number with a $15 limit. Then I stick that number in. If they try to submit a charge for $19, it won't go through. From experience, a $15 virtual account limit has let cumulative charges of $15.99 go through. But I am the biggest fan of Citibank Virtual Account Numbers. It protects me from the aggravation of having to dispute unauthorized charges, plus protects me from my own errors, in case I accidentally try submit a purchase twice, or for a larger amount than what I intended. |
I just did a real purchase using certificates for all but a few penneies. All went well save for when I tried the link for the 800 mypoints. I got the looping to infinite blue box asking for me to sign in. I played with the link and so forth to no avail. What to do? Is it worth sending to mypoints a screen shot of the purchase page and the link to the points, or is that just inviting trouble?

Cure,
In your case of an "actual" purchase within the guidelines, you may want to fight for these points. However, if you have $1 GC points from earlier, you may not want them reviewing your Tupperware purchases. Just my 1 cent. |
burgerwars,
Re: Citibank virtual account numbers. Are these available with any Citibank credit card? How do you set one up? Is there any fee assessed by Citibank for doing this? Thanks. |
