Awesome call here! Do we know if it's coming "regular" mail or package? Don't have someone to sign during the day...

From what I can tell from the USPS tracking number, it looks as if they sent it certified mail, so you'd need someone there to sign for it, or as we'll end up doing, taking the "we tried to deliver" slip to the USPS location listed to pick it up the following day.

Got a $50 Amex gift card from Acura today.

Do they have your name on the card? Does it say Acura or American Express?

They tried to deliver the Acura GC today (certified mail with signature required), but I was at the Chevy dealership for the Macy's GC.

Re: Chevy / Macy's GC:
1. Dealership was familiar with the promo, though hadn't had anyone come in the door for it yet.
2. You (should) get a confirmation email within 48 hours
3. $50 Macy's GC ships 6-8 weeks after test drive

Driving a Chevy Volt in circles for a few minutes seemed worth it. (Driving it as your primary car is another matter...)

Just a blank Amex gift card. Certified mail must be cheaper than customizing.

Got mine from Acura yesterday too. It's a regular non-personalized "a gift for you" AMEX gift card for $50. Still works for Christmas shopping. :)

I didn't even need to drive the Volt. Said it was for my relatives in a different time zone. I should have asked to test a Vette, that would have been a fun one.

My stupid Chevy dealer dropped the ball & never submitted my test drive for the Cabela's card. Now he says he needs some code from me which is not printed on the thing I printed out & took in there. Does anyone have a phone number for this promotion? The dealer doesn't & the number on the website just puts you into Chevy voicemail hell.

I got the Acura $50 Amex gift card. It says on the paper it is attached to:

$3.95 Purchase Charge

What is that all about? What does it mean?

drjazz Dec 4, 2012 2:10 pm

I don't see that!

Look to the right of the card, just under the expiry. It is printed on the white cardboard.

Does this mean there is a fee for using the card, or did Acura pay a fee to purchase the card for us?

Used the Acura gift card this weekend full $50 and there was no fee for using card.

I think it's just a receipt stating Acura paid $3.95 to load the card with $50.

Thank you kebosabi. You would think Acura would get a discount on this fee.

It's the standard AmEx fee for buying a $50 gift card. I'd guess Acura probably did receive a discount of some sort for buying in bulk.
