Went to the wrong location due to incorrect map on website
I belong to AA idine program. In March, I was in Calgary and went to a restaurant called Sumo Lounge where I spent $77 on dinner. Being from Toronto, I used the Map link which was on the idine website to locate the restaurant, which wasn't far from my hotel. Turns out there are 2 Sumo Lounges in Calgary, and I went to the wrong one because the map directed me to the wrong location.
BTW, the map has since been updated to show the right location!
Idine is refusing to honor the points I think are owed to me. Has anyone else ever run into this problem?

Personally I haven't, but as has been said many times, I would keep calling until you get an answer you like! I also would ask to speak with a supervisor, and their supervisor, and their supervisor, and keep going up! RN puts the maps on the listings to help the diners, and if the diners go to the wrong place based on the directions on the listing, why should the diner be penalized?
We didn't put the wrong directions up. (RN or the restaurant did!)

Frustrating! As the_traveler says, I'd call back - I have had to do just that given customer service seems a bit more reticent in recent months. And atxtraveler is dining very defenisvely - it can't hurt, can only help, in these circumstances.
I have to admit I prefer using another mapper to check addresses - and sometimes even the address they give is incorrect (Burger Joint in the SFO International Terminal had a very weird and useless street address when it was an iDine member, and we have 2-3 retaurants in the SMF area that have the wrong city listing - like Lion's Gate - The O CLub, the odl McClellan AFB Officers' Club.)

No doubt, there's more than 'a few' that are misplaced
I used to make an effort to send the corrected information to RN; sometimes the maps actually got fixed .. but the percentage was so poor that I figured they really didn't care.
Now I'll just call the restaurant & tell 'em they're being hosed.

Epilogue
Thanks for the encouragement. I called AAdvantage Dining and explained my dilemna. They offered me 200 courtesy air miles. My total bill was $73, so I should have been entitled to 730 miles. I said I didn't think that was enough, so then they offered me 450 miles. I told them I would accept 500, which they agreed to if I faxed in my receipt again and a copy of the incorrect map that luckily I printed from their web site, since they have now updated it with the correct directions!
Not as good as 730, but certainly much better than the big goose egg that I thought I would be settling for.
I love FT!

I always save the info to My Documents.
I use Netscape, but am sure you can do the same save in IE.
I go to File/ Save Page As.
I call it something like Miami Dines 10-1-07.
I haven't had to use any of this proof yet but it sure beats misplacing any printed copies.

thank you!
I ever telephoned them to ask if my account was shut or blocked for some reason. They said it was open and working.
I am still missing one entire IDine restaurant visit. I am fast giving up on this program and will only Dine in an IDine place if it is one that I really like and would visit in any case. Too bad as this has worked so well for us for so long.
Get your act together IDINE!
