I quite like the food quality in the Al Sawfa lounge. The Middle Eastern and Asian dishes that they make are nice. So is the nice touch of offering Arabic Coffee along with dates.
Overall, it's nice, but I feel that the "premium feel" over the Al Mourjan lounge (which already is superb) certainly has some room for improvement.

When flying J is it worth paying to access this lounge if you don't really drink? Seems people are saying the food is not amazing?

If they can only prepare them one way as it appears, it would be polite to inform the customer but impractical to ask them how they would like it.

Was it really overcooked or merely well done? We all know how steak snobs decry anyone who asks for their meat cooked through.

Most restaurants would cook a steak medium rare by default, and a burger medium by default. Straying from those widely accepted default norms should include upfront disclosure.
