Not sure where these crowds coming from. There's been a fever of excitement about the lounge in this forum, but i don't think it's matched outside: the rest of the world is stoically impervious to these high jinks.
Qatar's passengers will be directed there. But traffic from other carriers will depend on flight times, opening hours, position of gates and general awareness of a better world outside the one Cathay (etc) offer.
Though i guess QR might well bid for revenue outside its rush hours by becoming the designated lounge for some non-aligned carriers or the un-lounged members of OW.
For me the quiet of Cathay's understated facility outside the airline's BKK peaks is just fine, though of course curiosity (and CX opening times!) will get me into QR's lounge sooner or later

So they'll send their own premium pax on awards to TG. Do they have the means to decipher that information on non-QR ticket?

I’m (ironically) on a plane now and I don’t have the IATA barcode standard reference handy, but I’m pretty sure the booking class is (or at least can be) encoded in it.
From there it’s just a question of mapping between rev and redemption codes — which should be relatively straightforward.
