I have a roundtrip KUL-ZAG in September and saw that the dreaded A340 finally seems to be gone by then and that the KUL sectors will be serviced by a 777 and A350, I'm on the 777 flights. Let's hope by then there's a reasonable chance of Q-Suites on this route.

I took a BKK-DOH flight yesterday and now I am flying a DOH-LAX 15 hours 35 minutes flight in Qsuite. There was no last minute aircraft swapping and I feel lucky :) I got 3K for both flights. I somehow thought it’s more spacious, but it’s comfortable enough. Super Wi-Fi is sometimes disconnected, but it’s fast and I can watch Youtube video. $10 during the flight is very cheap, I think. If you don’t want to pay, the first 1 hour is free! Hope QR won't leave OW... |
I tried the QSuites just yesterday, on a short DOH-BRU, in the rear facing center couple seats.
They are very, very nice and comfortable, even if maybe a bit tight around the knees in the tray table area. Mr. L really loved them! Now he want to try the 4 center seats for the whole family :D |

$10 during the flight is very cheap, I think. If you don’t want to pay, the first 1 hour is free! However, because I find the Qsuite so comfortable and private, and I find the service and food to be generally excellent, the poor quality of the Wi-Fi makes no difference to me, I am happy to enjoy the Qsuite without it.

I have flown QR many times, and my experience is that the Wi-Fi fails more often than it works. Often, I am unable to use the supposed free hour because it takes more than an hour to establish, so it expires before I have connectivity. Also, the hour is limited in data as well as time, so on those rare occasions where I have been able to get connectivity, even just looking at Facebook uses up the data limit in half an hour or less. I am surprised you are able to stream videos on YourTube. However, because I find the Qsuite so comfortable and private, and I find the service and food to be generally excellent, the poor quality of the Wi-Fi makes no difference to me, I am happy to enjoy the Qsuite without it. Yes, indeed. |

If I remember correctly, the free hour of super wifi isn’t data capped. The free 30 ooredoo minute wifi is the one that is capped at 8MB, available on 787s and the a359s. I’ve never had issues with the super wifi and find it to be excellent, and quick enough to stream videos. The older ooredoo wifi on the other hand is impossible to use. |

Yes, indeed. Probably you have never used Super WiFi ...I don't think the 1 hour complementary Super WiFi was limited in data, but I might have seen somewhere free WiFi didn't support streaming. I am not 100% sure about that. I used it for my iPhone at the end of the flights and I didn't have any connection problems.. I purchased $10 plan for my iPad which supported streaming. Maybe I was disconnected a few times but the longest was like less than 10 minutes. Youtube streaming worked great. The dinner was a bit disappointed, though. I reserved my meal, but my FA told me they heated it up long long time ago and mine was no good to serve anymore when I wanted to eat... Maybe they gave it to somebody by mistake And that was her excuse... I don't know...I got a different main menu instead and the chicken was so hard. I didn't get soup, either. I liked the a la carte light menu, though. I tried three of them and they were good. |

My experience with the free hour was on QSuite 777s, A359s, and A351s. I read the terms and recall it being data capped. When it stopped working, I don't believe it said the data cap had been exceeded, but it was closer to 30 minutes than to an hour, and it told me I'd have to buy a plan to use it. Maybe it changed (my most recent experience was back in February) or maybe it's inconsistent.

Is there any Qsuite flight to South Africa?
|
I would warn people that Qsuites are obviously easily switched out. I booked a flight ORD-DOH-BLR-DOH-IAH in originally all Qsuite planes. The flight to Chicago was Qsuite. The flight to Bangalore was changed at the last minute, fine no big deal it’s 3 hours. Then the flight to Doha was changed in advance. Okay, again no big deal it’s a not a long flight. Then the flight to IAH is long and was looking forward to the QSuites on a 772. Of course I get on board and it’s the old 2x2x2 on a 773 they switched out at the last minute. And I’m in a window seat stuck because I get up a lot. This change was done last minute and really makes me mad because of the length of the Flight. So that’s 3/4 Qsuite configurations duped out of. Beware! |
Any chance QSuites make their way to AirItaly?

Is it normal for them to take the Qsuite off the DOH-IAH route or did I just get unlucky? That’s seems like a really long flight for them to take the Qsuite off. 16 hours in the old configuration was really hard. |

16 hours in the old configuration was really hard. Hard? Most people here find the old product to be quite good. Not as good as QSuites, sure. But hard? This is a 77L route; and IIRC, there are still one or two 77L airframes that have not yet been converted. |
