Sorry for being unclear. When the FA comes by during boarding (or shortly after takeoff) to ask what I'd like for my main and what I'd like to drink before and with the meal, at that time I say when I want the main meal, also on longer flights I pre-order a second meal and ask that it be served two hours before landing. I generally ask for a sleeper suit and mattress pad during the initial welcome onboard by an FA.

(I meant "pre-order" only in the sense of ordering well before I want to eat it. QR does offer true pre-orde, but only for some flights out of DOH, via the booking management tab on the QR web site.)

So I experienced the Q-Suite for the first time on QR830 overnight (DOH-BKK). Overall, the concept is good, but let down by some of the execution, some of the flimsy plastic surround was poorly fitted and the laminate despite no doubt being not that old was already chipped. I found the seat particularly uncomflrtar in the semi-recumbent position and laid flat I touched both ends (and I’m not particularly tall). The space in the storage that is shown on the video to be used for a mobile phone- wouldn’t fit my iPhone with a cover on it. On the plus side, obviously it does feel more private and you can lie on your side (I tend to sleep on my side which you can’t do in many of QR’s lower leg coffins). Obviously it really comes to its own if travelling with family. So in summary I like the concept, but wish they’d put a little more effort in the testing ergonomics and testing. |
My only negative on the QSuite is that in bed mode there's a ridge/bump in the seat across the hips on both the 777 and A350. I do find that I can move myself reasonably easily to avoid it being uncomfortable. I am 5'8".
Edit to add: also note the WC:pax ratio is not as good as F. I had one time towards the end of a flight where I had to wait a good five minutes for my turn in a 46 seat config. Having said that, the bathrooms on average are very significantly larger than what you'd find in many F.cabins. I haven't found any problem with the amount of storage space, or storing my iPhone Xs max away. The level of personal attention is top notch whether you're in QSuites or not, it's a level that I put equivalent to many carriers' First offering, and something I wasn't expecting from a Business class. For me this is a key differentiator. I have never found I needed to use the call button: the odd occasion I was tempted, as if by magic the FA appears anyway. |

well I certainly would describe this as top notch Eh? Someone pulling at a small panel so it comes slightly loose is it? You can criticise QR for a lot of things, but I'm not sure quality of general cabin fit-out is one of them. QR have absolutely one of the highest quality control standards of any airline on the planet for interior quality, they routinely reject frames that other airlines would be happy to accept. It delayed the launch of the A350 into commercial service because QR sent it back as not adequate. Let's compare Qsuites quality control to BA's most recent cabin roll-out, shall we (789 F)? My first flight in BA 789 F on a plane that was about a month old had peeling leather finish, a tray table that was broken so wouldn't lock into the close position and slid open on takeoff, a light that didn't work and had been taped over and a very angry gentleman in 2A which wouldn't recline (thank God I chose 2K). The state of the interiors certainly haven't got better in the subsequent two years. Howard Long was also talking about the level of personal attention and service with 'top notch', not the panels on the seat. |

I happened to read an article a few days ago regarding Boeing 787s from the South Carolina plant being delivered to various customers with debris inside, which noted that QR only accepts 787s from the Washington plant, not the South Carolina one.
That sounds bad. I have my first BA 787 F flight this summer. |
A number of posts have been deleted due to Rule 12 violations, and quite simply being wholly off-topic for this thread.

Hi all,
I just splashed out for 2 people ARN-SIN in business because we really wanted to experience Q suites, we specifically booked all the flight numbers that the QR website said had Q suites but only 1 out of 4 seat maps is showing Q-suite config...Is this just really bad luck? |
It's fairly normal for ARN flights, which are operated by 787s to be non-qsuites, as there are currently no 787s with QSuites.
But it is fairly normal for Singapore flights to be operated by the A350-1000s which are with one exception I think all Qsuites, but there there are some swaps to A350-900s. You are unlucky to not get the QSuite on both SIN sectors bit it might yet change. |

Not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere in this long thread (sorry in advance if this is the case). As B777’s often have window seats that actually lack a window and I like a window seat, are there seats that I should avoid? At the moment I have suites 8A and 5A. Usually seatguru will mention if a window seat actually doesn’t have a window but it isn’t mentioned for QR’s Qsuites in their 777’s. |
Looks like Qsuite for QR830/831 DOH-BKK has gone.....

What dates are you looking at? Just had a look in May and some dates both QR830 and QR832 are Qsuites and some dates just QR830.
