Thank you - hope these will have a lie flat seat as part of the reconfiguration given the timings of these particular flights!

darthlemsip,

It will. The 2-class A346 is already loaded on the GDS for the ALG route. I expect CGK to follow.

Is the PHL-DOH route going to stay as a 777-200 for the forseeable future? Any chance it will move over to an A350 or 787?

PHL-DOH is a mixture of 77L and 77W already.

I have a booking from CDG and the ac was changed from A388 to A333 with antique J seats, 60" and 165 degrees. Apparently the same type of plane also flies to LHR.
Can anyone point out the logic of using such old seating to major destinations like London and Paris, while many secondary airports get the new 180 horizontal seats?

It does seem like a strange thing to do when there are so many 'nice' ac coming to LHR & CDG now. If they are going smaller then a 787 would make sense. I guess you are unlikely to take the gamble and book with Qatar again?

What is row 10 (J) like on the old first class A330? I gather it is a separate row between first and the galley.

Is it noisy/claustrophobic? Or is it just like a normal bulkhead row?

Does anyone know which seats in business class have the longer seatpitch. Noticed there is a difference (50" in 787, and 51-52" in 380) and as a tall dude every inch counts ... any help appreciated

The old planes have an F class, and they've sold F tickets for those sectors, whereas all the new planes except the A388 seem to only have J and Y. Not a great reason, but I suspect that's it.

I suspect (but am not certain) that there is no difference in actual seat length.
Due to differing airframe widths and seat arrangements, aisle widths etc., what happens is that the same seat is angled slightly differently (ok, so it's not exactly the same seat but the bits that count are largely the same) which is what influences pitch...basically the seats are slightly less diagonal in the 380.

At least that's what I think is going on. In both cases, I believe the bed length is around 80 inches.
