The one in the pictures you've shared should be A7-AEF

maclover,

The one in the photo is A7-AEN. Or do you mean you have also seen the refurbished seats on A7-AEF? if so it would be great if you can share photos with other FT'ers.

An interesting thing is that in the winter schedule it looks like there are no more 3-class A330-300s.

Hi N1Rotate, you are right!

Looking at Instagram pictures you previously pointed us to, looks like the flight we are talking about is QR931 on July 2nd
https://instagram.com/p/4nnshODaP4/?...=k.....wannabe

Then I looked at wrong line in flight24 database

Not sure if this is the appropriate thread - but is the bar on the 787 staffed?

edit: I should add it will be a day flight VIE to DOH

Are the 77L and 77W business class seats, exactly the same?

Does anyone know if the new lie flat A320's will be running JRO-DOH?

Thanks!

Here is a video of the reconfigured A346 interior, which is what you will get on the reconfigured A333 too. As you can see Row 1 has plenty more space in the foot well compared to the other rows.

I don't suppose you've any idea how many are planned to be refurbished?

Due to fly qr2 LHR to DOH in November and am frustrated that the plane got changed from an A380 to an A333. Curious if there's any chance of still getting a flat bed on this flight.

propeller,

Not guaranteed but it looks like the A333 planned to be deployed to LHR and CDG from the winter schedule will have the refurbished products.

Well, I did DOH-JRO a couple of weeks back. no new J. Recliners.

FWIW I also did NBO-DOH on the old 320 a few days back, which went to a bus gate. That's pretty disappointing for a brand new airport. What's worse, I saw 3 788s parked at the bus gates, which is IMO shameful.

So I assume Africa 320 routes will be the last to get the lie-flats - if at all.

The Complete Guide to the Qatar Airways Fleet

scnzzz,

Thanks for your reply. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the soft & hard products on the A320 DOH-JRO QR route.

I'm currently ticketed on QR JRO-DOH-JFK and also on TK JRO-IST-JFK, both in J and am trying to decide which to cancel. Right now I'm thinking of dumping TK as they make a stop on the way to IST and the schedule on QR generally works better for me, although I could be convinced otherwise, thus any feedback on these routes and carriers would certainly be very appreciated.

Many thanks!

The soft product on the 320s is IMO very similar to that on the long-hauls. Two champagnes, half a dozen wines including Gewurzramminer and a good port - no different than my DOH-JFK segment. Food choices are also similarly varied and good, and you can basically eat what you want when you want it. The service is very good as expected. PDBs, hot or cold towels (your choice) twice during the flight (once with the PDBs, once closer to landing)...basically 2 dedicated FAs for at most 12 pax. The amenity kit seemed basically the same as for the long hauls (Armani IIRC).

Y is curtained off with a heavy curtain soon after takeoff, so you don't see Y traffic queueing up for the front lav.

What's missing are pajamas, turndown service, and slippers.
Finally, I'm not sure how extensive the long-haul entertainment selections are relative to the 320; again, I didn't use that much on the short hauls but from what I saw there were quite a few options.

One nice touch - when I did NBO-DOH on my return, we parked at a bus gate. J pax were let off first (Y was curtained off) on to a separate bus before Y pax deplaned onto the general bus. That said, ground traffic ensured both buses arrived at about the same time, along with traffic from other bus gates.

Hard product. IIRC the headphones on the 320 are not the noise-canceling variety you see on the long haul flights (I didn't watch any shows so I am not certain). Screen size is obviously smaller, and in the armrest. I think there's power (A/C and USB) but I didn't need any on that leg, so didn't check. The seat reclines pretty well, there's a leg and foot rest. A bit short for my 6'2 frame but plenty for most. Still, I slept pretty well on that flight after the meal service, so it's not bad.

Sorry, I didn't think to take pictures, so hopefully this gives you some idea of what to expect.

FWIW, my parents took TK on the same routing (except to EDI rather than JFK). Their view of TK was that aside from the lounge in IST, the experience was not that spectacular. EDI-IST in particular they said the service was poor, and that aside from the lounge, IST isn't fun to navigate. YMMV.
