I understand there is no First.
I'm not English mother tongue so probably I can't explain myself which are my questions in a good way.
This is what I see if I check the reservation on Checkmytrip (a 777 with the standard 2-2-2 configuration):
Qatar website also shows the 777 but you can't choose A1/K1 seats as they are marked as "Bassinet"
Same as seats E5/F5
My questions are:
- Why these seats are not available for selection?
- Are keep free in case of passengers that need the bassinet and can be selected only at the airport?
- In any case it's a real seat and not a "free space" where they install the bassinet?
- Do you think it's better to choose the first row when travelling with an infant (Should have more legroom)?
Last thing (and I hope I'm not annoying you):
"Why Checkmytrip shows 6K/7A/7F as selected seats instead of 6B/6E/6K as per the QR website?"

KiteM I am almost as confused as you are! I have not seen the red lines on a seatmap before but I think we can assume that they are seats that are already occupied by a passenger requesting a bassinet.
1. The front row of each cabin section and exit row seats are normally unavailable until about the time that OLCI opens. Bassinets are usually found at the front row of each cabin section.
2. At about the time OLCI opens some of the bassinet seats may be released for status passengers and possibly others. Otherwise the can be selected at the airport if available.
3. It is a real seat but has facilities for a bassinet in front of it. Bassinets are fixed to the wall in front of the seat (at about eye level for some passengers).
4. The front row of most cabins usually have more legroom. In some aircraft you may even be able to let your child play on the floor in front of you.
5. When Check-in starts (OLCI) information to CheckMyTrip and other such sites ceases. Thus CheckMyTrip cannot show the later changes made to the seating plan.

remdk I'm glad I'm not the only one to be confused :-D
I'm wondering why they don't just signed them as "occupied".
It can be a way to advice other passengers that there are young (and probably crying) babies? :-P
EDIT: I will fly tomorrow..... I'll keep you posted

So do you suggest me to select A1 for more space to let the little boy move without bore other passengers?

777 vs A340?
Hi folks, I'm terribly confused by which aircraft I should fly in J. I have the option of either, on the 10:50am flight out of CMB. I understand that the A340 refurb is a newer but tighter seat, while the 777 seat is an older model but more spacious. Is that a fair assessment? Is there any consensus about which is preferable for a 4h45m daytime flight? All thoughts would be appreciated!

Whereas on the 777 the storage is a bit ridiculous, I can't even fit my handbag into the compartment below the TV, so I can't have the things I want close to me. The 777 is definitely better for sleeping, and I like the footrest. The seat on the A340 is a bit short when in recline mode and my feet dangle off :<

When does the A350 service to JFK begin? The first date I see while booking, from DOH is April 1. Is that the first official commercial flight?

A320 from ZAG - which one?
Hi.
I am planning a trip to BKK from ZAG. All the flights from ZAG seem to be served by A320. How can I see which on is it? Of course I would like to be in lie-flat beds for 6 hrs flight…
