Much like Kiwi Flyer I've been having intermittent problems for at least the last week with the QF website - even just trying to login and bring up "My Bookings" results in an error page telling me the award booking engine is unavailable.

Kiwi Flyer Nov 24, 2007 11:22 pm

Yup. Still happening :td: Even when manage to get in there are still gremlins - sometimes reverts to Australia home page instead of NZ, loses memory of pulled down or typed entries (sometimes moments after you've selected them). :(

Am I missing something?

I'm a QF NB frequent flyer member and can change my seating preferences in my frequent flyer profile:

Your Profile → Additional Details → Seat Preferences

I can select "Forward Window" for Domestic, "Upper Deck" or "Forward Aisle" for International services (when applicable) and so on.

Now before becoming a QP and PS member in mid-2006, the seating preference option was not available in my profile (when I was a Bronze FFer).

Has Qantas introduced this feature (ability to enter a seat preference for DOM/INT flights) to all Bronze frequent flyers or have they simply not removed it from my profile after the QP/PS status expired? A Qantas.com error perhaps? Not that it makes much difference anyway...

Interested to hear your thoughts....

Cheers

It's still there but it needs to be updated imo to show upper or lower deck J depending on the equipment. Lower deck on a 2-class is far better than on a 3-class imo - especially zone A. For clarity I'm talking of 74's here.

I'm pretty sure that either Silver or QP allows you to choose a seat. It's one of the benefits of QP membership.

I have just logged into my FF account and noticed I was given the option to nominate my seating preference as well and I have been a NB throughout my membership. So I guess this must be something new.

It is interesting there are 7 options for domestic flights and 17 options for international flights

I just checked mini serfty's QF NB account and, yes, seating preferences can now be specified.

This is new!

Thinking about it, aisle and window preferences have been selectable for anyone once a booking has been made for a year or more - perhaps Qantas have decided to hold a small carrot out to their QFF members and give them preference selection for bookings over/above that available for non-QFF members.

Economy!

C & D fare buckets seem to be showing up as economy on the QF website.

I was checking a LAN trip i have to AKL in D and it is now showing as Economy (D)

Posting of points and Sc's to your account seem to be delayed by a few days. I seem to remember that in times past, they would be in your account before you got home from the airport.

I was home 45 min after HBA-MEL-SYD last weekend and the points had already appeared.

QFF pooints for QF domestic flights currently seem to automtatically post any time from the day of the flight until 2 days later. I have not ben able to find any consistancy other than this in the last 3 months.

After years of online statements, I received a paper statement this week. Go figure .

Absolutely! I havebeen trying to book a multi for over a week and get the same error (connectivity difficulties) when it tries to calculate points required. NOT GOOD! Have sent 2 feedbacks to technical support. I would like to hear from others who are having the same problem.

Simple return bookings work no problem.
