ricky and kiwi, I mean that QF NB might want to augment his chart based on the current news. Otherwise I was at JFK for the QF incident.

6/07/07 - Updated Post #1

Was browsing the Qantas Inflight Entertainment guide yesterday and was happy to read information with regards to Entertainment-On-Demand (AVOD). It said that 12 747-400s now have the system.

I've only got 10 aircraft with AVOD on the list... Time to find the other 2!

VH-OJP will be back in service within the next few days, with AVOD fitted.

VH-OJB, -OEG and -OJQ will have AVOD by mid-October.

Very unlikely, at this rate, Qantas will have the AVOD system rolled out across the 744 fleet by January 2007.

My guess is OGA thru OGK will be domestic with OGL thru OGV in the Intl 25/204 config.

Guess we will have to wait and see.

Flew on OGL yesterday PER/MEL (the Australian livery made it stand out a bit), and was not in the Intl config.

All ex AO aircraft are now in 2 class domestic 30J config.

This includes both OGL and OGV.

When are ZK-JNF/G being withdrawn? No more business seat on QF in NZ :( (coincidentally NZ has a few more int a/c running domestically these days so improved odds of business seat).

I'm hoping the 734s will replace them... I notice that the WLG-SYD route is sometimes served by a 734. That route has always had a 733 with 8J.

I just noticed that on the Death :-: site when you select aircraft type it showed up as an A320-100  Internal designation as I am sure these aircraft are A320-200....ok too much of an aircraft geek there.... :)

VH-OJB recently emerged (Friday) with AVOD installed and is currently performing crew training flights. The aircraft will be back in service within the next week or so. -OJB extends the list to 4 two-class 747-400s that now have the AVOD system (out of 7 aircraft in total).

QantasLink took delivery of their latest Q400 VH-QOF last night. The aircraft is expected to be placed into service within the next 2 weeks.

KF, plan is for sometime later this year.

If I remember correctly, QF won't be adding any more 737-400s to the Jetconnect fleet until early next year.

Jetconnect 737-376 ZK-JNF (which was withdrawn from service on 28/08) ferried from Christchurch to Melbourne today. Jetconnect now only has 1 733 (8J/112Y) with Business Class (ZK-JNG), with the remaining 733s being configured all Economy (130Y).

Qantas 747-400E/R VH-OEG is scheduled to be back online on the 8th September with AVOD. The next aircraft to be fitted with AVOD (VH-OJQ) isn't scheduled to receive the upgrade until early October - and Qantas still say it will be fitted across the 744 fleet by January 2007

Rumour: JQ to receive even more 332s (that is, in addition to the 6)... TBC

That's all for now, Cheers! ^
