Another website bug
I had a credit held with Qantas for a flight I didnt use; rebooked it for CBR-SYD this friday and paid the additional fee for a HOX fare. Checking the reservation online, it tells me that it is a super saver ticket and shows the rules for that rather than for fully flexible

Hmm.
Was the original cancelled fare in Super Saver?
AFAIK, if you use the credit from any ticket (including Red-e-deal) you end up with the flexibility of the new ticket, but with the same refund conditions as the old one.
Does that sound like it might be possible in your case?

Dave ...,
Have you contacted Qantas to check this? Maybe via (E-)Mail as a preference. I guess that if you telephone, you would get a CSO who would not have a clue about this, and even a superviser in the same boat. I dare say, that if you are not sure of the answer, most CSO's would not be either.
These credits are a PITA, however one does not want to lose all the $$$ if it can be avoided. For example, I have a $76 credit for an XLD (syd-mel) booking sitting somewhere in the bowels of a Qantas computer.
Given that it will lose $33 "value" if and when I use it, there is not much left. If I have to pay an additional $16.50 as well for a 'phone booking it leaves only about $25.
On thinking about this further, maybe the title of the thread is misleading to some extent. At this time I know of no way to use such credits without telephoning so "Website Bug" is the wrong term; maybe the CSO put you into the wrong booking class.

When I saw that it was showing as a super saver, I immediately called Qantas to query what had happened. My email res confirmation showed it being in H class and I was concerned. On speaking to them, they confirmed that it was indeed in H class and that I could make changes as much as I wished as it was a flexible fare.
btw, there is no $16.50 to pay for a telephone res when using residual credit, so the only cost is the $30 (+GST is applicable) change fee
I think you may be misunderstanding.. To make the booking I phoned reservations and paid the ADC. It was when I was just checking my booking online afterwards that I saw that it was listed as a super saver, with supersaver restrictions
Given that the new fare is fully flexible and refundable ( at least the $149 that I paid additionally is and is the amount showing as the ticket price ) then I think that this is a website bug. How can it not be an error for the website to tell me that to make a change will be $33 when it should be free?
