Have you contacted Qantas to check this? Maybe via (E-)Mail as a preference. I guess that if you telephone, you would get a CSO who would not have a clue about this, and even a superviser in the same boat. I dare say, that if you are not sure of the answer, most CSO's would not be either.
These credits are a PITA, however one does not want to lose all the $$$ if it can be avoided. For example, I have a $76 credit for an XLD (syd-mel) booking sitting somewhere in the bowels of a Qantas computer.
Given that it will lose $33 "value" if and when I use it, there is not much left. If I have to pay an additional $16.50 as well for a 'phone booking it leaves only about $25.
On thinking about this further, maybe the title of the thread is misleading to some extent. At this time I know of no way to use such credits without telephoning so "Website Bug" is the wrong term; maybe the CSO put you into the wrong booking class.
