What time are you planning to be at the LHR F Pub? I'm on QF10 departing at 12:15 on the 19th if you want to meet for a drink as part of the auditing process

Thanks for the offer - such auditing could be thirsty work. BA177 departs 13:30 so the timing appears good. I may end up opting for an earlier flight depending on previous connection from FCO. I'll message you closer to the day; it would be good to meet up.

Thanks og. The Fat Tyre is not a bad drop as far as US beers go. But being an AC, I am assuming this was only available via the drink vouchers for QP members, and of course the vouchers don't include the tip .

Seems the NW of the US is starting to realise that there is more to life than the mainstream "bud" type of beers. Makes life better for the rest of us now! And yes, the beers via the complementary drink vouchers were from QP membership and the tip was from me whilst still trying to understand the contorted system of screwing service industry staff with low wages and making them almost beg for the tip so they can make a living. Strange system.

Wink A new way for airline wine......

Something new for you to keep an eye on!!

What a corker, wine in a can
By Jeff Collerson
June 9, 2004

WE'VE had it in bottles, flagons and casks - now get ready for wine in cans.

Barokes, a range of wines in 250ml aluminium cans, will go on sale in New South Wales in September for $3.99 each....

Brisbane-based Master of Wine, Peter Scudamore-Smith, who is responsible for blending the tipples, said: "This is our version of RDTs (ready to drink).

"We call them RDTWs - ready to drink wines.

"Out in September will be a chardonnay and a cabernet sauvignon/shiraz blend, each available in still and sparkling form.

"They have been a huge success in Japan and are now in over 1000 convenience stores there."

He said it was planned to increase the line-up soon.

"Because people are hardly likely to cellar wines in cans they must be ready for immediate drinking." Mr Scudamore-Smith said.

The company had also started talks with the aviation industry, with airlines showing an interest.

Lets hope they don't follow the policy of serving canned drinks by US-based airlines, where you have to specificlly request the whole can if you desire more than just a plastic cup of "soda".

SYD T1 J lounge on Monday 7th. Spirits were the same as reported by Dave Noble on page 1, except there was no Jack Daniels. The wines were the same, but I jotted down some more info about them for those interested.

Sparkling:
Rosemount Chardonnay Pinot Noir. I think it was non vintage, but I forgot to check.

White:
Evans and Tate Gnangara unwooded chardonnay
Tyrrells Old Winery Semillon

Red:
Tyrrells Old Winery Cab Merlot
Amberton Shiraz

They also dragged out another couple of nice reds after Dave left the F lounge at LHR (the staff obvioulsy cautious after seeing the "damage" done to the JW Blue ) Brunello di Montalcino 95 and a Chateau Desmirail Margaux 96. The beers at BA's FCO Lounge included Guiness, Birra Tourtel, Bud, Carlsberg Elephant and Nastro Azuro ^ . Today at the Flagship in BOS beers include Sam Adams Lager, Light and Summer Ale as well as Heineken, Bud, Corona, Guiness and Amstel Light. Accept my appologies for not listing all other options.

Thumbs up Laxt4 And Bkk First

Both serve a nice cold Moet & Chandon.

It is actually in the under bar fridge in T4.
You have to know it is there.

Amber beverage options at SFO Admirals Club today include:
Coors Light, Bud, Amstel Light, Buckler Non Alcoholic Beer , Sam Adams Boston Lager, Heinken, Anchor Steam Beer, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Corona. Not a bad selection for the most part.

Anchor Steam Amber Ale is a very nice drop. I'll take that any time it is available.

Yikes! Fosters on tap in the AC at DFW!!! I'm keeping my voice down as I take no responsibility for that brew. Apart from that, on tap you'll find Shiner Bock (Lance Armstrong's one weakness) ^ , Michelob Reg and Light as well as Bud. As you cast your eye to the fridges you could chose a bottle of Miller Light, Bud Light, Coors Light, Amstel Light, Corona or Heineken. I think I'll try the Bock.
